My first thought, with regards to the T-shirt, was that, if the logo on the shirt was indeed the German crest, the words on the shirt could be "Imported from Germany," possibly suggesting that the decedent had German ancestry or lived/was born in Germany?

As for the red sweatshirt with the wording "Enjoy Lebanon, Oregon," Lebanon is a city in Linn County, Oregon, with a population of around 15,000 as of 2010; however, in 1990, Lebanon's population was closer to 10,000. It's not too far from Portland, Salem, and Eugene — perhaps the decedent lived in or near those locations?

In the map below, the red pin represents Lebanon, Oregon, while the blue pin represents the area in which Manchester John Doe was found.

I wish there was more information about him. I found this thread while looking for a possibility for a missing man, JMS, but I doubt this UID is JMS.

UID is thought to be 5'10" or taller.
JMS thought to be 5'8" or 5'9".

UID was found deceased in 1994 in California.
JMS last known to be in California in 1991.

JMS is German.

Bumping up case.
Why no age range at all?
What kind of DNA do they have?

Interesting how this fellow had a Lebanon, OR shirt on, the town is located on Highway 20. I drove through it a couple of weeks ago while on my way back from central Oregon. Many people use Highway 20 to travel to and from Bend, OR (Deschutes County).

Found this shirt from the 1990's that has the same moniker, though it short sleeved and not long sleeved. Definitely looks like something you would get from a tourist shop though.

Two fellows I could find who were in boating accidents around the right time:

Roger A. Anderson - MP36131

D.L.C: February 15, 1993
Missing near Eureka, CA (~175 miles north)

Mark Stephen Leese - MP11979

D.L.C: May 31, 1990
Missing near Pt Reyes Station, California (~100 miles south)

Here's a map of coastal California's currents:

Time wise, Roger is a more likely match.

Sharing some media info on heartanimum suggested matches :)

Ukiah Daily, 16 Feb 93, pg 3 - article regarding the sinking of the Admiral King, on which Mr. Anderson is reported to have been on, along with 2 others who were listed as missing. I'm not familiar with who those individuals are nor could I find an update on a simple search.

Longview Daily, 1 Jun 90, pg 15 - article regarding the finding of the wreckage of Mr. Leese's fishing vessel in the Pt Reyes area. He left out of Chinook, Washington. Not sure why Namus has him missing out of Pt Reyes unless there was some communication with him indicating he was in the area prior to the wreckage being located?

Very interesting finds!

Maybe Mark's location was put Point Reyes purely just off of where his boat was found? Wonder if he sent out any distress signals indicating where he may have gotten into trouble. If he was traveling from Chinook he would have been going down the coast, he very well may have ended up in Manchester if he went overboard. His boat could have continued downward to Point Reyes before being shipwrecked.

As for Roger, I had no idea he went missing with other people. I did find this newspaper article from the L.A Times article from 2000 that mentions him with two other men - Bernard Weick and Melvin Rose, neither of them I can find on Namus or Doenetwork. Not sure if that means they were found, or simply never added to the database. Either way if these two men are still missing they could very likely be our UP as well. It does say they went down during a rough night at sea.

That's kind of what I was pondering also.
