A man faces a possible murder charge after DNA evidence linked him to the killing of a Los Angeles woman in 1993, police said.

Police said Monday that Charles Augustus Jones, 41, was incarcerated at Chino State Prison after being arrested in connection with the death of Mara Robinson, 34, whose body was found in the restroom of a car wash at 1624 W. Florence Ave., on June 9, 1993.

Last month, arrest warrant was issued for Jones in connection with a 1995 sexual assault on a woman in New Orleans. The alleged victim in that case survived.

LOS ANGELES – A parolee was convicted of strangling a woman in a car wash restroom in 1993.

Charles Augustus Jones, 43, cried and begged to be taken out of the courtroom after jurors found him guilty on Thursday of first-degree murder with the special circumstance that the crime was committed during a rape or attempted rape.

He was convicted of killing Mara Robinson, whose body was found on the restroom floor at the Personal Touch Car Wash on June 9, 1993.
