I am so glad he was found guilty. I'm only disappointed it was 2nd degree. I'm glad there has been justice for Maribel and her family, they were there from day one, totally invested in finding her.

Every victim is a loss, every victim is worthy of being mourned, but Maribel just had so much left to give, so much potential. RIP Maribel.

A 55-year-old Orange man was sentenced Friday to 15 years to life in prison for the second-degree murder of his roommate, a former Army sergeant who was student criminal justice at Cal State Fullerton...

“He almost got away with murder, ladies and gentlemen,” Simmons told jurors during closing arguments. “He almost got away with it, but he didn’t.”

I am angry he got the sentence he did. I know Maribel's family said they were OK with it, but I'm angry. I joined here because this missing woman was so close to home. I admire her, so much. What a wonderful contribution to society Maribel was, and could have continued to be. I am, and was, mad as hell about her case. What a f waste of a wonderful person. I hope K.C is haunted by her for the rest of his life.

BTW with our time served and Jerry's Kids and the federal measures we have going on - K.C. could be out a whole lot sooner than his sentence suggests. I'm mad.

It's like her life wasn't worth anything. Even a Google search doesn't bring her up on the first page.

Maribel's case was on Dateline last night. I'm so glad KC Joy was caught and convicted. I hope he never leaves prison.
