Found Deceased CA - Maricela Garcia, 26, Reseda, 12 Jan 2017 #3

think that is the most likely scenario but was trying to think outside the box a little. I was thinking along the lines of a hispanic US citizens identity being used to bring people in across the border.
That would be trackable though, the minute they used the social security number, wouldn't it?

  • #102
I was just thinking the same. The only thing that doesnt add up for HT is MG's secret. Im thinking HT victims don't know ahead of time that they are going to be taken. Maybe the secret is just a coincidence?

Do we have a way of seeing if the other missing persons in the area have any past history of drug abuse?

If you were going across the border into Mexico, do they require ID? I would think so. I know she must have had a passport since she went to Italy at one point. I wonder if it has been located or if travel history has been checked

But often HT victims are groomed for awhile. Sometimes this is done by the perps pretending to be potential employers, or potential boyfriends or casting directors, etc.

So it is possible that her secret had to do with a new upcoming job, or new boyfriend, that she didn't want to tell her family about yet.

Sorry, I have been MIA. Just reading back here but have not looked at my PMs yet. Daily, I know off the top of my head, there were also two missing from Stockton that were also very similar in appearance as the others. I mentioned them earlier in the thread...one of them had recently befriended two hispanic women and the family was afraid she was being forced to prostitute. When I get home and can access my laptop, I'll see if I can find their info. I know it's a long way from LA, but it seems there are clusters of abductions in one area, then a short time later, a few in another area, etc. It would fit HT because they are constantly on the move. When they stop in a town, they will drop off some girls and pick others up...then do the same in the next town. I believe the route was presented to me as something like LA to Sacramento to Vegas to Denver to Phoenix to Amarillo to Dallas....I will try to find that info when I get home as well.
What a great job everyone is doing.
So many contributing factors with Mari's case but there is a giant part of me that still thinks she may be tied in with the others somehow.

that's about right.. the track usually stops in fresno, albuqurque and nola too and then goes on to florida.

Okay...so here is a list I have compiled of recently missing women in the CA. I purposely left out Stacey Smart just because she didn't fit the demographic of all the other missing women but she too went missing in Yolo County (same as Papini) on 11-02-16 (same as Papini) I broke the list down into NorCal and SoCal. I have also mapped each of these. Link is at the bottom.

Making this list made me extremely sad. There are so many women missing under really suspicious circumstances and unfortunately, I was not able to find too much, if any information on some of them. Something is definitely going on in CA. I took my search back to Sept 2016 but there was not many missing women until November and now it seems like it's non stop.

I am now working on making a list in Albuquerque, however, with all the info from the West Mesa Murders, it is a little difficult to find other info. I will post that as soon as I have it.

Here's the list:

Is it not also possible the work of a serial killer who is interested in a particular type of woman? I would say it is too 'hollywood' but (this is america) and there are a lot of women here and not many of them being found again. and if the perp targets vulnerable women this is a way of getting away with it for longer. in the UK there was a killer of women who were being prostituted and he murdered many before the police bothered to catch on.

I was wondering if the maps included Ventura County (I can't access them) and I was also wondering if trafficking in Ventura County was also being looked at due to it's close proximity to Reseda?

  • #109
I can't access the maps either, is it something we are doing? or a location thing? i'm in NYC

I think the map is set to private.

Sorry about the map!

I know it's paranoia but I realized after I made the whole thing that the map is linked to my Gmail account which i think is visible (maybe not,I can't tell) but my email just happens to have my name in it.

So, for the sake of my privacy I am going to transfer the map to a less personal email.

I will post the link as soon as I finish. Hopefully it'll be up tonight.

I'll also add in the two that misitivon mentioned.

Sooooooo many girls to track. It's scary. When I look up other states I don't find anywhere near as many missing women.

I feel like to say serial killer is definitely a stretch but especially after watching The Killing Season documentary, I don't doubt any possibility anymore.

There just seems to be such a connection between all these women.

I do believe a few of the women also did have drug related histories. I'll double check that though.

No please don't apologise, it is amazing that you are making a map. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a doofus and not clicking something which would make it accessible. let me know if i can do anything to assist.

Wow!!!! Seems Maricela Garcia has left the building. If LE knew there were links involved with a serial killer kidnapping MG and other women across the most populous state in the country I'm sure they wouldn't be keeping it secret from the public. When I was a kid growing up in Los Angeles the nightstalker, hillside strangler, the zodiac killer, the golden state killer, etc., we're household names. Most have never been caught. Could they be involved with the limited names of missing women recently posted on MG'S page? Dought it. There are 100's of women missing in california and i think that discussion would be good for a different page but not here. Now, there is another recent serial killer still unknown in LA. The Northeast L.A. killer. Someone has killed multiple women in Northeast L.A. And by multiple I mean two. The 2011 murders of 22-year-old Bree'Anna Guzman and 17-year-old Michelle Lozano are believed by investigators to be connected. And the Los Angeles Police Department hasn't ruled out the possibility that a serial killer was at work in the area. Cops have not connected the killings to a sexual predator who was roaming Ernest E. Debs Regional Park. Nor have the murders been tied to the discovery of the bodies of other female victims east of downtown. The murders of Guzman and Lozano remain unsolved.
As far as MG's case goes it's also likely theres a connection with drugs, money, street gangs, and a lifestyle choice.

I agree with you,

I don't think this is the work of some random serial killer running loose across Los Angeles County. I don't think anything about this case is "random" at all...unfortunate...absolutely.

I agree.

I hate to say it but too many red flags have been raised in this case that lead me to believe that we may be missing vital pieces of this story. I understand that the public almost never gets 100% of the story but in this case, I feel like we've been given much less then usual. All we are left to do is speculate wildly because there's just not enough facts to make any real headway.
All I can hope is that the family is being 100% honest with LE .

I agree with you, and with Code4SAR.

While it may be(in theory) possible that MG is missing because of a serial killer - I believe this to be highly unlikely. Occam's Razor tells us that the simplest answer is probably the right answer.

We know there has been a recent history (within the last year, for certain) with drug abuse.
We know there 2 other incidents of her being abducted by others who are connected to her drug abuse.
We know that there are sightings of her at the place she went missing, everyday at the same time.
We know she said she 'had a secret'.

This isn't a serial killer, or serial abductor. The most likely option is that someone connected to MG by either drugs or her lifestyle has done something with her.

Mistivon shouldn't be the main one working. .. law enforcement should. So what do they know that we don't?

Wow, so many missing women. I've been a member of Websleuths for a short while now, but didn't start checking out the current missing persons threads until recently. Is this a normal amount of people to be missing in one period of time, or is it a "spike" of sorts?

What strikes me is the similarities in some of those cases. What is going on in CA? [emoji17]
