I still doubt that the nurse from the clinic said" I remember her, I used to treat her and rumor is she was kidnapped" because that would still be a total breach of hiipa laws. But again, plenty of facilities breach these laws daily. It makes no difference if we -they - everybody already knew she was a former patient there, they still are not allowed to say what this pi claims was said. That is just not how the law works, it makes no difference what they already knew like some had claimed here.

I also believe MG met with foul play probably having to deal with drugs. I believe she most likely got in the car with someone she knew (it was raining) to do buisness and when she tried to leave, was forceably unable to...and what happened from there who knows, but I would guess she would have been taken out of the area. I did look through arrest records and found that on Jan. 26, there was an arrest in Ventura Cty of 3 men (1 from Reseda) for heroin, meth, and cocaine. So the drug aspect brings in people and places from all over, just as arrests for HT (one in Simi-Ventura Cty) but involved LA Cty as well.

I truly believe that the sister knows a lot more then what she is saying. Even the name calling can indicate that she's trying to deflect from something ,her words can absolutely be scrutinized in a way that would lead one to believe she's deflecting and evasive.
Obviously all people react differently under extreme stress so who am I to judge? But my heart tells me that there's way more to this story then what's being told and that the answers to solving this may lay closer then expected. Stranger things have happened though so for all we know................

How many believe - MG has run off voluntarily?

How many believe- MG was buying drugs on the night of her disappearance and ran into foul play? Like overdosed or was murdered by a person she knew?

How many believe- MG was the victim of HT ? ( Even if it isn't a traditional trafficking ring)


I do not believe that MG RAN off voluntarily. From the first day, I have believed she was a victim of a crime. I also believe that if it wasn't for Mistivon, this case would've never made msm even once. I sincerely hope the family knows just how much work Mistivon has put into this case.

I think she was buying/selling drugs and something went wrong.

Yes I just don't see this as a stranger abduction. I can't see this being random.

Besides there's too many red flags, something is up here and sadly this case could go unsolved for a long while because of it.

I sincerely hope that LE is truly searching for Maricela and hasn't written this off.

Surely there's a way to get into MGs phone history online even though it's a prepaid phone to see who she was contacting in the days leading up to her disappearance but I guess we will never know if LE has looked into that or not.

I almost wish she was victim of HT because at least that means there's a chance she's alive. As the weeks go on, I'm starting to lose hope to if she'll be found. I must remember that sometimes we don't always get what we want, when we want it.

So it seems that many of us here share similar theories as to what may have happened to Maricela. It is just such a gamble when information is so dodgy but I guess we can only work with what we are given here. I just hope this thread doesn't fizzle out and sink down to where Maricela is forgotten. In time, with no new leads, I'm afraid that's what could happen.

Hi guys. I'm still here Just slowly but surely recovering. Let's see here.
I think the investigation is pretty much stalled on LE's end. They are waiting for some kind of tip to point them in a specific direction. I am in constant contact with the PI and new information is being learned everyday. However, we are not sure if and how it relates to this particular case and I would be treading a fine line if I chose to discuss it. I don't think I should until I know more about what we are looking at.
Most of you know that while I am an admin on the FB page, I never really participated in posting due to the perceived tone. Again, it has been low on my list of priorities this week, especially being so sick. I will try to get some kind of post up shortly.
There are several leads being chased. However, these leads typically consist of "someone knows someone who saw someone talking to someone and that someone knows Maricela" or some such. They must all be tracked down because you never know which tip might bring her home. I just don't see the need to discuss every one because I don't want to drag people into the story that don't belong here.
There is also the possibility, as discussed, of organized activity being involved. I DON'T know if LE are looking into that angle, and while some of us can sleuth behind the scenes and come up with some great ideas, it is just too dangerous to go treading into that territory being inexperienced. Sadly, while "leave it to the authorities" is the safe way to play it, the authorities seem to be waiting on amateur sleuthers to give them leads, lol.
Sarah is not searching that I know of and neither is mom. Keep in mind, that I am not privy to their every move and moment, so they may very well be trawling the streets every night. I just don't know about it. I believe Dad is searching and Edgar is away at college.
The media has also gone very silent. I just don't have anything to give them for a story. I can't tell them what we are working on without proof and I can't make news appear where there is none. It is probably about time to do a renewed plea for information. Maybe I'll do that next week.
Not sure exactly how long she was gone. Pretty sure it was only a matter of days, tho.
In a nutshell, I am still here. Things are still going on and we are still looking at different angles. A couple of us are going back to Reseda this weekend since we are still trying to find some key people who may hold some answers (or may not, but have to ask).
Hopefully this weekend I will have more free time and feel well enough to come update everyone a little more.

I really don't see it that way but I appreciate the kind words. I haven't found her yet or even uncovered anything significant past the first clues that Mr Mistivon actually found. No media, no successful searches, just a lot of running around in circles and dragging people with me
But yes, I have to find her. Since I don't see anyone out there begging for her return and I'm not seeing anyone talking about how they're searching and I'm DEFINITELY not seeing the police interested, I have to search. I kinda feel like if I don't, who will (Besides you guys that are also in this for the long haul and the PI)? Who else is chasing down homeless people but us and researching crazy movie type stuff on the internet and hanging flyers and walking through ditches...it's us. I don't understand it but I'm only in my shoes so I don't try to. There are other missing girls and she may or may not be linked and I'm kinda looking into them but she is my focus. I can't get too busy for her or too sick or too involved in other things. Not that I'm important or anything, but I kinda feel like if I (we) don't find her, who will? I don't want her to be lost forever

It's a shame that LE doesn't seem to share our viewpoint here. We seem to mostly all agree that MG was a crime victim, obviously our theories may vary some from person to person here, but at least the majority of us feel she was a crime victim. Maybe they do also feel she's been a victim of a crime, what do I know?! But I really wish more was being done for her ( by LE. Obviously mistivon is doing everything she can do) It angers me that they didn't go around and collect footage from GW and surrounding stores, it really upsets me. I would think that should've been their first move but by all outward appearances, that didn't happen.( It was Mistivon and the family going around asking questions. When they asked if police had come to collect footage or take statements, employees at the stores said no)
For all I know though maybe they did do more then what it appears.

If any of you truly feel that the HT angle is truly plausible ( I am not feeling it but again, I've been wrong plenty of times) maybe those of us who live in larger cities with escorts or prostitution problems could start hanging her pictures around? I guess it couldn't hurt any and at the very least, at least we will feel like we're helping. I live in Atlantic city NJ, AC is well known for plenty of escorts and adult entertainment. ( I actually live on the outskirts but you get my gist ) Plenty of the girls who work Atlantic city travel from state to state . They run in a circuit, similar to the one described in this thread. Girls here will be brought from Boston to NYC to Atlantic city and then Atlanta. Most of these girls who travel this circuit are accompanied by pimps ( some call them boyfriends but whatever the terminology, these girls are usually not traveling alone and are usually in the company of older males) So I guess it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that a trafficker could bring her to the east coast to avoid her from being recognized. Like I said, I personally doubt that she's been trafficked but your guess is as good as mine!! I have access to many in the streets here due to my job.

That would be a great idea. I was thinking Mission Hills, Santa Clarita, Westlake Village but yes, absolutely, take her national. Who else would be willing to hang posters? I can email a pdf then if you just call a place like Staples and explain that you are helping the family of a missing girl and ask them to donate flyers, they usually will. It may only be 50 but sometimes 100. That would be great...just hang them wherever. If you go to the airport, hang them there. Train stations, bus stations, hotel row, anyplace. That is a brilliant idea, Rachel. I would love the help. Can anyone else do this? Please?

I really wanted to email this person and ask if she had heard of MG but professionally, not sure if I should or not. I am a million miles away and yet, when I see this city name, I instantly think of Mistivon and MG so that is a good thing because if it wasn't for Mistivon, I would not have known about this tragic happening. Keep on doing what you are doing as you are getting the word out !!!

Mistivon yes you can send me the PDF and I'll hang them. If everyone does this maybe if anything it will help spread the word. What we could all do is take photos of our "Maricelas national flier campaign" and someone could create a photo collage for the family to see to show them that Maricelas photos are hung nationally. If anything maybe it'll provide them with a little hope.

I think if the family saw her fliers hung in places far away like Atlantic city and nationwide, maybe they will see how much people really do care about Maricela. We could try to capture a landmark in our photos to show them the cities that the flyers have made it to.
Hopefully a bunch of us can do this, even if you just hang a couple a week.
