Building shored up, stabilized some flooring area, one corner remains unstable. Will stabilize that and search that last Section. 85% of building has been cleared. Power still off in the area, will remain off while crane and heavy equipment are clearing the area.

Hopefully next time we see this _____________ <--------(fill in the blank) it will be a perp walk.........:jail:

I wanted Matt to ask what he did will all the money he made.

Can donate at youcaring.com, search for Oakland Fire or Victims of the Oakland Fire. Asking for all donations to go through this way, financially and other donations.

BC (left corner) and a small section in the back remain to be shored up and searched.

One person remains unidentified. One corner is very unstable, they are taking their time to brace it.

I did notice a few nice pieces, but it was so junky they disappeared. Ninety five percent belonged in the trash. IMHO

Is this the interview you guys are talking about??

Oh, boy. Hmmmm...uh...

This guy is on a different planet. I said something yesterday about Derick not being able to comprehend the loss of life, and I questioned my use of the word "comprehend". I'm sticking with it. He exists in fantasy land, and it has been destroyed. When asked perfectly reasonable questions, he becomes agitated, defensive and completely nonsensical. How dare you ask me that?? I was their savior!! These people would have been homeless, they had nowhere to go, and *I* took them in! No one else wanted them but me!!
Good grief. I can totally see the cult leader-like mentality with this guy.
Derick Ion is disturbed. I think he thinks he's above the law...we'll see about that, buddy.
Just my opinion in absolutely no professional capacity.

^ DA is definitely off the rails :trainwreck:

There's a part in A Chorus Line where the actors give overwrought soliloquies and he reminded me of it.

Wow, they had to cut him off. I wasn't expecting that.

On FB he always ranted as long as he wanted, so I guess he figured national TV would want to hear every precious word out of his mouth. They did him and the rest of us a favor cutting him off. What a nut case.

This Today show interview is the first time I have seen him speak, I need to go back and watch other interviews.

The Today show interview has the feel of a bad skit. He's a drama queen, a narcissist, and, if I may say, a raging a-hole.

Oh! Good. Let's go ahead and let him get on the floor per his wishes. I'm cool with this. What a psycho.

Jumping off your post LaborOfLobe :seeya:

Just watched his interview, aka/gift to the future prosecuting attorney. Uh, yeah. Pretty sure that more than your soul will be held accountable. If my loved one had been one who died in his illegal (literal) deathtrap, I would be sorely tempted to take him up on the 'trample my body' offer. Especially after seeing this performance.

You just stated that when you were young, you didn't do that. So even you have not always taken that responsibility. I'm the same way, sometimes I look for those things, sometimes I don't. I think it is safe to say that close to 100% of people do not evaluate stuff like that on a regular basis. Anybody who does that 100% of the time, probably is paranoid.

I'm not even sure how a person would go about figuring out where all the exits are in a crowded night spot. Since normally it is too dark to see, and too crowded to move around a lot. Simply knowing where you came in is not enough, if that exit gets blocked by fire. That's why we rely on the government to make sure that establishments are up to code. Unfortunately they failed in this case.

I was responding to Eloise who had said that we should not have to, b/c it is the responsibility of the club owners. Yes, it is their responsibility, however, humans are fallible (there are more warehouses than this one, underground clubs, poorly marked exits, cramped quarters, etc...). If you read my post, I stated that back when I was younger, no, I didn't always take note,if ever, but, due to being older, wiser, and most importantly changing times, I do a cursory check of my surroundings when I go into any facility now. Be it a restaurant, motel, concert arena, or movie theater., and yes, in crowded situations, I do it every time, even in a mall. I don't rely on anyone to save me. I'm a biker and everyone is wearing these watch out for biker shirts and posting watch out for the bikers memes, not me, I watch out for me and it'ssaved my life on more than one occasion. I am responsible for me, I don't take it for granted that anyone else is looking out for my best interests. Just passing on a bit of life lesson in hopes someone may benefit (from someone who's been around the block a time or two).

Edit: If it's too dark to see the exit when you come in, how are you going to see it when the lights go out and the room is full of smoke or there's an active shooter? No, I'm not paranoid, but I am safety conscious these days.

Whoa.

His theatrics and manipulations might have worked on a certain crowd, but they will not work with the public or with LE....and not with a jury.

He needs someone to tell him to stay away from the camera and reporters, though I have a hunch he will not resist the temptation for attention and air time. (And he might even be attracting new followers.....yuck.) Pull the plug on this guy's mic, throw the book at him, lock the door.

Armchair psych eval.
Man-child.
Possible personality disorder. He cannot see that he's done anything wrong. He can't accept any responsibility for his actions. Probably very good at being manipulative. Lived with someone with similar characteristics one time. Nothing is ever their fault.

Is it possible to take this guy's passport without a charge yet made against him? Seems like he could be a flight risk.

I'm sure LE has an eye on him.
