@debbiegarcia - Where? The place in Oakland? http://ohapd.gosection8.com/default.aspx

Here? BC coast Canada. Far from the maddening crowd. Small town/pop. about 3000. I grew up in cities from Inverness/Glasgow/Coventry/Vancouver/Toronto etc. Never want to live in another. Love the fresh air, artesian water and open spaces. Mind you there are the disadvantages as well.
Thanks Rhyme! I'm in So Cal and rent is high here too although I own a condo. I'd like to get out of California in 5-10 years.

I wonder if Derick Almena has a criminal record before 2010s. I have read of the 2015 offense.

I was wondering where you lived with such affordable rent compared to California. British Columbia sounds inviting!

30 PAGES of complaints/violations??? :badmood: I need to zip my lips.

Glad Gitana was able to be with her mother and brother. This surely must be one of the hardest times in their lives. How we all wish we could make things easier for her. Give her our combined love, please.

Seriously with that much complaints, it should be shut down and condemned.

I know, I feel fortunate, I'm in the UK and it's law for the housing association. If the alarm goes off it triggers an alarm at the fire station. They have always been very quick to respond. Most of the time it has been a false alarm but several years ago my neighbour on the ground floor, I'm 2nd floor at the top, it's just ground, 1st and 2nd. Her daughter was playing with matches in her bedroom, yeah great parenting.. and set fire to the bed. The fire trucks were here fast that time too but smoke was billowing out the window, we were told to keep all windows closed and stay indoors until given the all clear.

I have anxiety and am neurotic as hell. Ever since that happened I've ran contingency plans in my head on how to get my cats to safety as fast as possible ..... and I turn everything off at the fuse box if I leave the house for more than an hour!

When we were kids, the parents gave us instructions on what to do, what not to do, in the event of a house fire, and where to meet once outside. We were also to bang on our parent's windows to alert them, if we beat them outside, but never to go back inside. As a child, mother and her siblings, watched their home burn. They actually ran into the burning home to try and save some belongings. Their parents weren't home yet and a bucket brigade could do nothing. They lost everything but a couple things the kids grabbed, and the clothes on their backs. My mother has lived in fear of fire ever since. She got stickers to put on our windows that would alert the firefighters that children were in those bedrooms (they say not to do that these days b/c of pedophiles taking note.). Her fear of fire was passed on to me. I've caught the chimney on fire before. The pot bellied stove turned cherry red and began breathing. Blew the top off! I managed to slap the top back on and ran outside til the chimney cooled off. Very scary. I learned a valuable lesson in packing coal in the stove though. I always grab my dogs and head to the basement in the event of tornadoes, the cats freak out and hide.

this is a real eye opener! One Word........Unbelieveable!

Those poor children. As an adult you can choose where, and how, you wish to live but that's just horrible. Those two have fried their brains.

Where is DIA from? a native Oakland CA?
I'd like to try to find out more about his life.
Did he graduate from an art academy?
Was he always a nomad, commune type person?
If he, his wife and children lived there, did they smell? No showers?
His father in law must really know him to call him out with the Manson/Hitler dangerous man comment.
Has DIA ever worked a real job?
So much to learn about him. and Mrs.
Married how many years?

That's called burnin' your friggin' brain out. He's an attention wh**e w/a drug habit, and a personality disorder of some sort. Not a good combo.

Add me to the list, after the today show - so want to know what went on in his childhood.

Gotta be intense stuff

I kinda wonder if he changed his name (maybe not legally but just in "life")
