You might cry when you watch this video. Beautiful children. Maya's children are growing up, but we can't take lightly all the adjustments they've had to go through. Such a relief to see them doing so well in a healthy environment. Looks like they really took part in this 5 yr. Memorial Hike in Maya's honor. They've been living with Maricris & Richard, and they've been getting a chance to get in touch with their feelings and show their feelings-- they miss Maya, they miss their Mother. ​

*Further Proceedings Hearing (@ 2pm PT) - CA - *May “Maya” Millete (39) (last seen @ home on Jan. 7, 2021, near San Miguel Ranch area, Chula Vista & reported missing Jan. 9, 2021 by her sister; not found). *Larry Ibarreta Millete (40/now 44) charged (10/18/21), arrested (10/19/21) & arraigned (10/21/21) & re-arraigned (1/25/23) with felony murder & felony possession of an assault weapon (a search warrant was served at the residence on 1/23/21. Detectives located a .223/5.56 rifle. The firearm is non-California complaint configuration & is an unlawful assault rifle in violation of 30605 PC, which is a felony). Plead not guilty. Held without bond. Denied bail (11/4/21). Found mentally competent to stand trial (9/26/22). San Diego County (South Bay)
Murder trial set to begin on 3/9/26.
The case has been reassigned to the South Bay courthouse from Judge Dwayne Moring, the jurisdiction where the crime is alleged to have occurred & Judge Enrique Camarena will preside over the trial in Chula Vista. San Diego County DA Summer Stephan & Defense attorneys Liann Sabatini & Colby Ryan.

1/8/26 Update: Records from a marriage && family therapist who treated May "Maya" Millete will be released to the prosecution & defense in preparation for her husband's upcoming murder trial, a judge ruled Thursday. The order to release the records comes about two months before Millete's trial is slated to begin at the Chula Vista courthouse. While typically such records would remain confidential without the patient's consent, they were ordered released pursuant to evidentiary guidelines that deem a person to be presumed dead if they haven't been heard from in five years. A "personal representative" for the deceased patient would then have the privilege to release such records, but no such person exists, attorneys said Thursday. Juror questionnaires are still being finalized, but are expected to pose questions to prospective jurors regarding their awareness of the facts of the case, given the widespread publicity it has garnered. Next further proceedings hearing on 1/21/26 @ 2pm. Motions hearing on 2/23/26 was reset on 2/24/26.
*Conservatorship Case: Accounting hearing was on 11/20/25.
*Guardianship Case: Family Court Case- Judge Robert Frazier final decision on custody of the children to Maya’s sister Maricris Drouaille Review hearing on 3/10/25. Case is now closed after custody awarded Maya’s sister.

The Judge granted a delay. The trial date has been moved to May 2026. Maricris begged the Judge not to allow another delay. This has got to be hard on all of Maya's family members, but their strong faith has gotten them through five years persevering.

Displaying perseverance; resolutely persistent; steadfast. Continuing in a course of action despite difficulty or delay.​

The only consolation here is that he's in custody. Double travesty if he were walking around out on bond all this time.

Wondering if his motions hearing on 2/24/26 is still on? I know the 2/23 one was moved to 2/24 & the 2/23 hearing vacated. Guess I might have to wait for the DA to send me an email....

However, please take note from the probate notes on 11/20/25 that the Court approved the costs and paid all the bills from 2023-2025, and Ordered the discharge of Court Appointed Attorney Olga Nazimova for Conservatee. They disbursed more than $100K for discounted attorneys fees, and have less than $200K funds remaining (from the sale of the residence). IMO, the children will continue with therapy, and those notes will be filed with the Court-- but are sealed from the ROA. They will likely schedule another hearing if/when they have accumulated expenses to approve and pay. JMO
