BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding a missing 40-year-old woman, considered at-risk due to having a diminished mental capacity equivalent to a 14-year-old.

Melanie Cercone, 40, was last seen in downtown Bakersfield on Sunday, June 18, 2023, around 4:50 a.m. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is not familiar with Bakersfield.

She is described as White, 4'11" tall, 180 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and gray leggings.

If anyone has information regarding Cercone's whereabouts, they are asked to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661) 861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at (661) 322-4040.
