CA CA - Melodee Buzzard, 9, Vandenberg Village, 14 Oct 2025

  • #741
Listened to a retired FBI agent who’s a guest on Brian Entins show tonight.

His opinion is that they likely had enough to arrest her on a charge related to Melodee at this point. But they didn’t do that. Which means they don’t want to give up their game plan or the evidence they have so far.

Instead they arrested her for something completely unrelated to Melodee. That’s pretty much what I thought as well. It’s a generic easy to charge felony that will buy them time to ultimately get whatever it is they are working on, wrapped up.

Guys, if this were a simple case of a wacko mom taking her child to someone she knows, in order to protect her from aliens from mars. Do you think we’d be seeing this kind of activity from LE?

maybe? if they were stumped as to where the kid actually is, and they needed leverage?

but i don't really know.

That was my very first reaction.
Retired FBI Agent said in his opinion no, statistically speaking the odds are much higher that she was harmed. He would have to hear much more than what we currently know, to make him lean that way.

His further opinion, Investigators have something they are holding back. Bigger fish to catch?

What could she be involved in? Maybe this isn’t the first time she’s made that or some other multi state trip, maybe it’s a regular occurrence and why she wants Melodee kept out of school.

Little kids talk, can’t take that risk.

I’m sort of wondering if this is something benign, more a reason to get an arrest and be able to hold and interview her.

We see similar circumstances in many cases, not that unusual. Maybe they think she will crack under pressure. She left the house barefoot, lol. Marched her right out of the house and didn’t let her stop to put her shoes on - nice tactic. Probably fed up with three weeks of her bullshite.
This is my guess, pending anything contrary. There’s a lot you can stretch to meet the definition of false imprisonment, especially if your goal is to apply pressure rather than to get a conviction.

Detectives learned of a recent incident where Ashlee prevented a victim from leaving a location, against their will which constitutes false imprisonment. This crime is not connected to the ongoing search for Melodee, however, detectives are unable to fully outline the crime as it would impede their ongoing investigation.

The wording there is curious. A recent event. This makes me wonder if whoever this victim is, is someone that didn't know Ashlee's name but saw her picture in the media & called LE. Otherwise, why not report this false imprisonment sooner, instead of just now? Total speculation of course.

It just keeps getting stranger and stranger.

Local reporter talking to Ashlee’s mom again and Melodee’s paternal fam. Apparently the sheriffs knocked on her door and told her if she didn’t open it they would break it down.

Unfortunately, the news has disabled the link from being able to be played back for whatever reason. KSBY news on YouTube if you want to see it.

Crazy thought … what if the child we’ve seen in recent photos isn’t Melodee? She’s been gone for a while now. Would explain why Dad’s family isn’t allowed to see her, homeschooling, and why the child has disappeared. When the truancy thing ramped up, the gig was over.

Feel free to tell me I need to take a break from WS.

I’ve been wondering that as well.

No, I know what you mean, and I've said something similar! It just doesn't look like the younger Melodee at all to me! But I never had kids unfortunately, so maybe I don't know -- do they change that much from 5 to 9?? I suppose they do, huh?

If we are thinking that this really isn’t Melodee then who could she be?

Ashlee took some child on a road trip. They were seen.

I know this is way out there but could Ashlee have been “hired” to deliver this child to someone? But then again why go all the way to Nebraska with a child, turn around and come home only to “leave” the child somewhere along the route 1/2 way home?

What was in Nebraska? Why Nebraska?

Could Ashlee be a drug mule?

bbm

they can. in those mid-single-digit years, they stretch out and thin out like balls of silly putty.

and, although the recent picture looks less like younger melodee, IMO it does look more like ashlee, which you might expect.

I’m back again.

Could going to Nebraska just be a way of confusing everyone and providing a false narrative? She went there to throw people off her real intended destination?

I don't think it's a crazy thought. I was looking at my daughters school pictures from Kindergarten through 5th. She changed but not that much. I have always had problems with that being Melodee.

LE would know if it’s Melodee or not. They say it’s her.

If it wasn’t Melodee I would think that Ashlee would have been arrested a long time ago.

It’s all so bizarre.

OMG...I think you are onto something. When I look at the video with the straight-on view of the so-called MB, the shape of her face is not consistent. The person with the hoody has a long face (from eyes to chin); whereas, MB is evenly proportioned, with her forehead almost as long as eyes-to-chin. A couple other observations: The person in the hoody is almost as tall as AB (especially considering AB's wig is alot); and, the person in the hoody has very thin legs. I realize MB could have had quite a growing spurt between 5 and 9 though. I am not sure.

Also, along these lines....wasn't there one of the MSM articles posted that a witness mentioned seeing her with a 30 year old, not a child? Gosh, where did I read that?

I’ve kicked around the idea of money laundering. There was a case in Florida where a woman (Katherine A) was moving money around, she was ambushed and killed. But we’re talking about Lompoc, I don’t want to get too far fetched.

We just don’t know enough about Ashlee/Melodee to make suppositions beyond what we know about them in this current situation. No one has ever mentioned drug use, so?

I’m trying to pinpoint when Melodee was last in school. I recall the interview with the paternal grandmother/aunt - Melodee had been removed for the second time from Ashlee. This may have been around the age of 5 or 6. They stated Ashlee picked her up from school and never returned her.

Is that the last time she was in school (Santa Maria school District or maybe Orcutt).

If so, going with my crazy theory. This child at 9, who Ashlee presumably registered back in August for homeschool in the Lompoc school district, wouldn’t be recognizable or have a history with anyone who could dispute who she was.

Could be why Ashlee doesn’t have any photos of Melodee. You have to admit the photo aspect is sketchy as hell!! NO one has any recent photos of this child!

How do we know Ashlee doesn't have any photos of Melodee?

I think the mother has significant mental health issues that are the root cause of why this situation developed. I don't think she is criminally motivated to sell the daughter or subject Melodee to sex trafficking.

It is incomprehensible (for the moment) why this mother rented a car with both her daughter and her wearing wigs, then to drive to the midwestern US changing the license plates along the way. I think the mother is delusional, paranoid, and thinks someone is pursuing her, hence all of these attempts to camouflage her and her child's identity and movement. Who she thinks is pursuing her is speculative at this point.

LE probably wouldn't be all that interested in her bizarre activity if it weren't for the fact that Melodee is now missing. It is hard to believe that someone who would be caring for Melodee legitimately wouldn't have reached out to LE by now. That leaves a more sinister outcome as the more likely reason that the child is missing, but how likely is it that this mother is organized enough to murder her daughter and keep her remains from being discovered for this long? Disposing of a human body isn't the easiest thing to do and might require an accomplice to be successful.

The extended family acknowledges that the mother's mental illness has been an issue for a long time. Her disordered state of mind both enlarges and constrains the actions of the mother that would cause her daughter to be missing.
