At the 14:40 mark here FBI assisting search for missing California child Melodee Buzzard the reporter explains that when LM received a call in 2016 about Melodee about to be taken by CPS, Ashlee's older daughter Destiny was also living in the home with Ashlee and Melodee and that she (LM) thought it was Destiny, that Ashlee was trying to feed the rotten food to.

This case just gets more sad with every update.

Interesting, so Melodee’s paternal Grandmother says she has legal custody of her? But Ashlee at some point in the past, took Melodee back when she went to college?

Where did she go to college, locally at Alan Hancock or Cuesta? Doubt it would be Cal Poly in SLO.

A little more detail on how that actually transpired would help it make more sense.

UPDATED 10/22) She clarifies to us that some time after Rubiell died, Melodee had been placed in Lilly’s custody, but that Ashlee took Melodee from the school she had been attending at the time and left Santa Barbara county. Lilly hasn’t seen her granddaughter since.

“I didn't even know she lived there,” she says. “She's been hiding from us, especially from me, because I'm the grandma and they gave her to us. So she's always been scared that I'm going to go and just grab her and take her and get a lawyer and fight with her. I don't want to fight.”

So it seems taking Melodee and leaving the area with her is not a new thing - perhaps when Ashlee feels threatened, MOO.

According to Lizabeth, Monday's visit was Corinna's second attempt to make contact and gave an account of a brief conversation they had last week.

Lizabeth said: 'Corina had asked Ashley if she needed anything, if she could get Melodee anything, and if Melodee was okay. And then Ashley said, 'Why now? Why are you coming here now?'
When Corinna - who shares a dad with Melodee - explained that she hadn't known where to look or where the child was, Buzzard snapped 'There's reason for that'.

Lizabeth added: 'Ashlee just kept repeating, 'I hope your kids, and you are well' to Corinna. She never said anything about Melodee.'

Santa Maria has a very small regional airport with very limited flights.

If what was said in the DM article is true and Ashlee was given 72 hours to produce or inform, the clock is ticking. She’ll either comply or be arrested by tomorrow.

The photo of her grasping her iPad while out and about today. When I saw it, I wondered if Ashlee is reading all the news stories and getting some sort of perverse pleasure from the attention?

I wouldn’t think so, she has chosen to isolate herself and Melodee, so attention doesn’t seem to be her thing. But we know nothing about her, so anything is possible. Included the possibility she harmed her child to prevent her from being taken again. JMO.
