I'm still listening to the YT link ^^^ , and it was suggested that maybe Ashlee didn't want Melodee to have a happy life without her, or possibly upcoming CPS involvement ?

The area where litte Melanee was found is near a popular route for tourists visiting the Utah Big5 parks. It is a route that one culd take from Bryce Canyon NP to Capital Reef NM and Canyonland NP or Gobelin State Park.

I know they said they don't have a motive yet but my thoughts are similar to what was suggested there. That is, Ashlee knew CPS was closing in and thought to herself, "if I can't have Melodee, no one can".

I never imagined this outcome. Shooting her own child in the head? Multiple times? Ugh. Just so horrible. I really thought she sold her or gave her up. such a gruesome crime.

maybe, but the LEO at presser mentioned extensive planning/premeditation so i am thinking more than that. Procure weapon and ammo maybe, not sure but it will be ugly once we find out. That I am sure of.

I think the LEO mentioned changing license plates and deliberately backing into gas stations to avoid the license plates being visible on CCTV. That would seem to be clear intent to avoid detection.

I expect the school official will testify at a trial, about conversations they'd had with her. I'm sure they have a protocol to follow, and document each step along the way.

IMO, it might be what's called 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'

I just can't get over how stunningly gorgeous this child was, her smile.. poor little angel. I just heard about this case an hour ago and haven't gone through all 80+ pages here, but was AB a recent mental case or WTaF?
