Michael Bounds went missing under strange circumstances on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the day before Thanksgiving Day (USA).

According to sources, including John Lordan's interview of Michael's daughter below, Michael Bounds was last seen on surveillance making his way to Murphy's Market in the Glendale/Blue Lake area around 3pm to purchase chewing tobacco.

After returning home for a bit, he later went to help a friend do some grocery shopping. His car, a silver 2006 Dodge Charger, is seen dropping off the friend at her residence at 5:52pm near the 900 block of Alpha Street. Since Michael does not exit the vehicle, there's no independent confirmation that he was in the car.

The car is later caught on surveillance pulling into the 5000 block Eureka St and Vance Ave at 8:05pm. The lights are on as the vehicle pulls into the corner but are subsequently turned off. From John Lordan's interview, the ring camera capturing this footage appears to be motion sensitive, so with the lights off and no movement, the image goes black so we can't see anyone exiting the vehicle. By the time the lights from another moving car reactivate the surveillance camera, it's clear that there's no one in Michael's car.

Even more strange is the fact that the distance between Alpha Street where the friend lives, and Eureka Street where Michael's car was abandoned is about a three minute drive (see map here). And yet there's a two-hour gap of missing time that Michael's car cannot be accounted for.

In John Lordan's interview, Michael's daughter describes that, when found, the car was obviously cleaned in a way that's not characteristic of Michael. She says he would sometimes chew tobacco as he drove and would get it all over the inside of his car, and yet there was none of that when the car was discovered.

Michael's cellphone was found in the passenger seat. It couldn't be used to trace movements because the Location Services were turned off. However, Michael's daughter states that these services had been off for a while. She had been aware because she used a Life360 app to monitor her dad (with his consent) due to his health. She believes Michael may have just turned them off accidentally a few weeks prior. She had plans to visit him and take a look at his phone to see if she could fix it but just hadn't gotten around to doing so yet.

At this point, foul play is suspected. Michael is diabetic and insulin dependent. Additionally, he regularly uses chewing tobacco, and yet he left at home the chewing tobacco he purchased at the store that day at 3pm.

Another point that may or may not be relevant is the fact that Michael visited a nearby casino that morning. It's not known if he won any money, though the daughter speculates in the comments on John Lordan's channel that, if he had won, Michael would have used cash to purchase the chewing tobacco later that day—suggesting that he did not use cash.

What do you think?
