She is on her way today, to Hermosa Beach where he went Missing in 2016.

Happy Birthday Mike Vanzandt! I cannot put into words how much I love you. The day you were born felt like a miracle to me. Well it hurt like hell for hours but ended up being the first precious moment in my life. I am proud of who you are and what a great Dad you are to your precious children! Rock on son and always know I Love You to the moon and back a billion times and miss you so very much! Seriously, Mom♡

Happy Birthday Mike Vanzandt! I cannot put into words how much I love you. The day you were born felt like a miracle to me. A local article today. This happened last week actually at a beach I frequent.
Some speculation that it MIGHT be Michael Vanzandt.
"The 36-year-old Air Force veteran and father of three was last seen on surveillance cameras walking down the Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza on March 5, 2016, a little more than five miles away from the 300 block of Paseo Del Mar where the new remains were recently located. "

Michael David Vanzandt, a 44-year-old father-of-three and two-tour war veteran, was last seen on March 5 2016 in Hermosa Beach
I sent the info to his mom and she said her other son who now lives in CA was aware, and they are waiting for ME and forensic testings.
They are waiting for dental forensic testing at this point and she will let me know once they find anything out.

My son Tyler VanZandt has posted the information that I am sharing below regarding the conclusion of the skeleton found at the beach that could have possibly been my son Mike Vanzandt remains. It has been determined by the coroners office it is not him.
When the story started unfolding and the possibility seemed that the reality of it being him was a huge possibility, I took it extremely hard. Selfishly, I didn't want it to be him, it was too painful. I felt gut punched with loss all over again. It was the feeling that it may truly be the end and not the ending I wanted to ever face. The only type of closure I ever will wish for is to see him alive again.
The best thing that happened out of this is his story got out there once again. The worst thing is someone else has lost a loved one and we hurt for them and their tragic loss.
I want all of you to know that we sincerely appreciate the many of you that have reached out in support of all of my family no matter the outcome. You are the pieces that hold us together and for that I am forever grateful. Wherever Micheal maybe, he too would be overwhelmed by your kindness and forever thankful.

Hi all,
I wanted to share an update, as I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting news about whether the human remains recently discovered near Redondo Beach would be a match to my missing brother, Mike Vanzandt.
We recently learned from the LA Coroner’s Office that a dental exam determined it was NOT Michael. This news is emotionally complex for many of us, as the closure we sought would also have meant facing the finality we fear most. We are grateful to the Coroner’s Office and the PVPD for their assistance.
Michael has been missing from Hermosa Beach, CA, since March 2016. There are still NO evidence or leads about how he disappeared. Over the years, our family has occasionally faced situations like this one. Each time, it’s an emotional rollercoaster, leaving us with no answers and our hearts further hardened. This was no exception.
In this particular case, due to the prevailing narrative around his disappearance, the speculation was picked up by several news outlets and social media groups. Many hypothesized that there was a strong chance it was him. This reignited many emotions we first experienced eight years ago, and we began bracing ourselves for the worst. Michael’s children, now young adults, also got a front-row seat to the often insensitive nature of internet comment sections, while also witnessing the immense love for their dad and the continued support for our family.
While we didn’t find him, I am thankful that more people now know his story and that the possibility still remains that we reunite with him some day. We will continue putting one foot in front of the other, sharing his story, and looking for him. We hope you will continue to do the same.
As the holiday season approaches, I encourage you to treasure your loved ones, to be grateful, and to remember that many people are quietly facing challenges we cannot see or appreciate. Let’s approach one another with compassion and choose kindness.
