GUILTY CA - Michelle Hoang Thi Le, 26, Hayward, 27 May 2011

Yes, I thought of Phuong Le also... I hope this young woman is found safe.

JMO

LE should definitely bring in a profiler in regards to both these cases. They sound somewhat similar.

Praying that Michelle is found soon.

@DLynn: Thank you for being so dedicated to help the Le family find Michelle. I'm concerned though, hopefully Kaiser doesn't frown upon you helping them since you work for them. They're already acting like a big corporate company that watch their assets.

Thanks infamous but I'm a subcontractor there. I take photo shoots of the newborn babies and their families. And not to throw any weight around, but I have close to a million readers on the net and I'm not afraid of controversy. If they want bad press they don't want to step on these toes. I know too many people in the publishing business that would love a story like this. (corporate giant vs. missing person/family that needs help)

And I've got a private cell phone number of a major news anchor. Just saying...in case they try to mess with my job....

I'm glad you're one of the few people left with some guts :maddening:

Things could turn real sour for Kaiser if some news outlets or bloggers decide they want to drag Kaiser through the mud. After all, it did happen on their property and they're acting like it never happened.

I was going to go with Kaiser next year for my health plan because I would save over $400/year, but there is no way I'm doing that now. Everyone in my company has Kaiser. I'm one of the few lone holdouts for over 10 years

This is exactly what it is. We live in a society where everyone is terrified of losing their jobs, paranoid to speak up, and flat out scared to go against the norm.

Their attitude is nothing short of what most organizations do when they have been associated in the press with a kidnapping/murder. No doubt, legal, HR, and PR were all over your questions. I'd even bet they had a MEETING to discuss it as a THREAT.

Kaiser and most healthcare organizations are EXTREMELY political. It's corporate politics at its finest. You could cut the BS with a knife. Kaiser "the McDonald's of healthcare" is no exception.

You're right. They don't want more press coverage, don't want fliers, don't want pickets, don't want attention, ...they just want the whole Michelle Le situation to blow over. I'm sure their legal team, HR, PR, and executive team have made very explicit instructions to not discuss the case or situation with ANYONE other than cooperate with police. In fact, I'd bet the instructions were set up by lawyers and PR agents working for Kaiser to "do very little as possible so this can go away quickly... we don't want to scare people from coming to Kaiser." This is ALL ABOUT MONEY. Surprised? You shouldn't be.

I'd say, be very careful DLynn - that sword you're throwing yourself on is a sharp one. If you can do that regardless of who tries to silence you at Kaiser and have nothing to lose - I'd say you have tremendous guts. But if you need your job, perhaps leave it to others who have nothing to lose. It's going to take that kind of mindset for Kaiser to change their mind. I'd hate for Kaiser to "teach you a lesson" for doing what is right. No doubt, Kaiser will cave with the right media attention - at least somewhat. Yet, they are going to protect their financial incentives...and could care less about a missing nurse - if you weighed it coming from their direction.

As I've learned in Corporate, especially healthcare in California - doing what is right - isn't always the right answer and can get you fired to "teach you a lesson". The system is so beyond F'ed. Imagine that, someone getting in "trouble" or penalized for doing the right thing but I can assure you, as Kaiser is corrupt as a politician, that I know what I'm talking about.

Has Kaiser donated to the family, with their multi-million/billion dollar back end? Look at who DID donate to help find Michelle Le: Samuel Merritt University and Turner Construction. It appears that $20K came out of the family's own pockets. So, Kaiser, where is your donation? Where is your help to the family?

Listen for the crickets or the paper shuffling as Kasier attempts to make political maneuvers to protect their "assets".

OK, Kaiser didn't do this terrible deed, and they have a very big reputation (good and bad) to protect, that's reality. And yes it's about money, that's a huge part of big corporations. But let's not get off the topic by bashing the big guys.
This isn't about Kaiser, it's about someone who has done something to and with Michelle Le. Let's get back to that. I really respect all of you who will be out searching tomorrow. I really hope you find something for Michelle.

  • #446
You’re right. Kaiser didn’t do the crime and are under no obligation to help.

But they are directly blocking others from trying to help and seek answers. Therefor, attempting to wash their hands of the matter. They are no better than the actual perpetrator(s).

I would be ashamed to be affiliated with such a company.

Big job but have they tried to trace the cell phones of the 25 suspects and see if any (Signals) fall in the same area as ML around the time of Disappearance? And also do they end at all near where hers was last heard??

"Police are not saying what's on the video but that it has been sent to the FBI for further enhancement."

I wonder why this video took so long to get in the hands of the police. Gosh, I hope it is what is needed to solve this.

"So far, police said they have not worked up a suspect profile.

"I don't recall anything like this recently in the Bay Area, so to say it fits a profile, I think it would be reaching," said Lt. Roger Keener of the Hayward Police Department."

This worries me. It doesn't sound like they are close to knowing who is responsible to whatever has happened to ML, does it?

I'm just wondering though. What if Kaiser knows more from their surveillance videos than anyone else knows? But can't share it with the public just yet. The news just mentioned Hayward LE got new video and they submitted it to the FBI to get help enhancing the images.

Hi everyone I'm back today with some disturbing info,on many counts. Since I'm in a sling I had my DIL take me on some errands today, and one of them was to work at Kaiser Hospital.

1)I went onto the second floor to let my co-workers know that I would not be at work for awhile because of my dislocated shoulder (good reason to be there) , and while there I brought a big stack of Michelles flyers and asked if I could put them in the employees break room (which I thought would be OK since it's probably the place where Michelle may have last been seen) The answer was a resounding NO.

2) I then asked if we could put some up in the parking garage where she disappeared or in the hospital. Another resounding NO.

3) I persisted that this was something that Mark Klaas suggested would be helpful to the search for Michelle Le. A phone call was then made to the person in charge of Kaisers public relations, Deborah Barnett (not sure about the spelling) I was told she would call me back on my cell phone (no call yet today and this was about 12:00 I went there)

4) IT IS APPARENT THERE IS A BIG GAG ORDER IN PLACE REGARDING MICHELLE LE AND HER DISAPPEARANCE.

5) I talked to a friend while up there in HK that mentioned that the EFT was called to the parking garage to clean up blood after Michelle went missing. She mentioned they did not know whos blood it was. This employee was nervous to talk to me and I did not want to ask her anything else.It wasn't the right time or place. I do not want to jeapordize her job. I am not even entirely sure I heard the term EFT correctly but I did not want to push anymore. I thought maybe EFT might stand for Emergency Facilties Techncian? I'm not sure.

6) My DIL and I went over to sleepy hollow to take some pics of the parking garage for my article. Since I can't take pics well with the camera because of my sling she got out of the car and took them in the lot. She was IMMEDIATELY approached by security asking why was she taking pictures.

I am irritated in so many ways right now and I let Kaiser know to expect search parties in that area for 3 days and that Mark Klaas was called in to help with his organization.

I'm so pissed -not at Kaiser employees because I love my co-workers. I'm just very very angry at the "BIG PHARMA MENTALITY" and what I percieve to be a cover-up and lack of cooperation on Kaisers part to help find Michelle.:banghead:

wow.
It's wonderful you tried to pass out/hang flyers.
I think they fear being sued or quite possibly a doctor or a higher up admin/employee is involved in the case.
When I worked at a popular nightclub in Seattle the police hung missing person flyers in our club and the owner immediately ripped them down. We don't want to scare off customers.
I wish I could remember the case. From what I remember she was dosed at the club and followed outside the club and attached.

The local news just showed the gathering place for the search (at 8:30 am CA time). It's a good size auditorium. There are at least 60 people volunteered so far, including a group of nursing students from a different college. They said the parking lot is filling up.
There are a number of Klaas organizers in yellow t-shirts. The volunteers are getting instructions, etc, before they go out. I so hope something is found today!

I wonder why it took Kaiser 3 weeks to come forward with this new video? My family has a business and stuff happens all time outside of the building. I'm always called in to find the footage and save it. If they needed something quick, I always tell them to play it back on the monitor and record it on their cell phone. I could even log into the system over the web. This is a simple setup bought at Costco. I'm sure Kaiser has some more advance hardware than what we have.

Why didn't the police seize the footage from the start? Did they obtain search warrants for it? Aren't these search warrants public records? Why haven't police released any info to the public? What are we looking for besides an Asian girl wearing white scrubs? They don't even tell us what type of cell phone we should be on the look out for.

Here is some info I hope someone can pass along to the searchers.

There are a lot of boarded up homes near the downtown area. Like 1442 B St, Hayward, CA. That area of B street has a lot of boarded up places transients go to. I hope they search these places. A Street also has a few in the same area.

If they go to the area around 22454 Foothill BLVD, Hayward, CA. There is some sort trail access that goes under the streets. It is alongside some water canals. You can't see it well from a satellite view, must use the map view. You will see the water. You access it next to the brick building across from Chase bank. Most people don't know there is stuff down there. City Center Dr/2nd Street in Hayward.

Just wanted to let all the searchers know that even though I can't be there in person, I am in spirit, and am praying for a safe, successful search for Michelle.

jedi (or anyone else),

Would you happen to know the names of the streets where they are searching?
It would be helpful to have that information posted in the scanner thread.

Thanks everyone for your concern about my job but like I said, I am not scared of Kaiser firing me. I don't work for them, and yes of course they could put pressure on my boss but unless they want some very ugly press they better not go there.

Questions:

Odd that this new video just came out yesterday after I approached Kaiser. Maybe just a coincidence but I am very concerned Kaiser is holding back things that could be of importance to the investigation. I am going to email Mr. Klaas and maybe HE has an idea to get more cooperation from them, after all he has a high profile and maybe he has some clout in that area.
Why did Kaiser take 3 WEEKS to release this video?? This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

One of the doctors that is a friend of mine at Kaiser is going to give me a copy of an email that was sent to her regarding Michelle Le. It will be interesting to see what that email says.

And why did Kaisers PR person not call me back?? I ran a small business for over 14 years and that is not normal. Is is because I'm just a photographer there and what I have to say or ask is not important about Michelle's case? Yeah I bet they held a meeting about my inquiries. Maybe it's a good thing I'm out with a dislocated shoulder -things happen sometimes for a reason.

I'm starting to wonder if someone from the hospital IS involved with her disappearance.

Thanks!

I have no idea. Looks like you would have to be there in order to find out. I hope they do release the area they searched at the end of the day.
