Lots of things that seem "girly" today were considered more neutral in the 70's. Insects--bees, butterflies, ladybugs, caterpillars, whatever--would all have been just "little kid" back in the day.
To me, if Grandma, or his sitter, or neighbor, or Sunday School teacher, wore that ladybug pin -- maybe he saw wearing it a big honor?

We will take a look.@othram Any chance you can have a look at this poor little baby? Breaks my heart, same age as my own child.

I was on the Doe Network and ran across this young boy and couldn't believe that he was still unidentified. Is there a way that the pictures of his personal belongings can be released, maybe we can identify where things were from. Instead of a drawing of a ladybug.
