You know we see a great many families of missing persons that do file a for a legal death (death in absentia).
But that is a remarkably short time, one year.
I'm not making a judgement call one way or another but I really can't remember a family doing that so quickly? Usually it's such a painful and arduous experience for them to conclude that their beloved family member who is missing is more than likely deceased that it usually takes a bit more time that a year.
But then again people are different I guess. All JMHO.
