I just received word on this an hour ago through More Kids (the organization started by Amber Dubois dad, Moe) I was so sorry to hear about it. My prayers go out to the family. RIP Mitrice.

This is really sad...just a few weeks ago there was the false hope that she was alive and living in Las Vegas. IMO, the discovery of her body now, is even more tragic to the family and Mitrice's friends...given the "new information", (i.e., she's living in LV), in this case.

This breaks my heart...prayers to her family and friends.

This is so sad. I was always hoping I would run into Mitrice and help her find her way home. I live close to this area. I thought I saw her once outside a concert hall for a holiday performance...

I pray for Mitrice and her family. May peace find their hearts.

Until the reported sightings in LV, I had always thought she never made it out of the canyon. Those sightings made my hopes go so high. Prayers for Mitrice's family.

This is such a sad and terrible case. I am so sad for Mitrice's family. What a horrible ending to a nightmare.

I wonder if Malibu PD usually releases people from jail who may be acting oddly. A lot of what happens next will probably be based on their usual policy. But at least on the surface, if appears that they might have some liability here.

That said, I don't think it should come down to a matter of sex, meaning that just because she was a woman she should have been treated differently. Just sounds like the whole policy needs to be overhauled, yet there is never enough space in any sort of hospital or facility where she or others in her situation might be sent. Still-sounds like Malibu screwed up in this case and it resulted in tragedy.

This whole thing has been appalling. The sighting in the neighborhood was never confirmed and it should have been. She ended up being right under everyone's noses. The family/friends were right to search Malibu Canyon b/c that is the obvious place given they were not familiar with the area. But given the sighting, the police should have known better.

Has there been any more specifics on where she was found?

OMG! I was so sure she'd be found in Vegas.

I cannot even imagine how her family feels.

I'm so very sorry. May Matrice RIP and I'll pray for comfort to her family and friends during this difficult time.
