Mom throws toddler, then herself off balcony in Upland, 2nd child found unresponsive – San Gabriel Valley Tribune
A mother threw her young child off the second-story balcony of an Upland apartment complex Tuesday, police said, before jumping herself. A second child, an infant girl, was found unresponsive inside.
Neighbors say they called police when they saw the woman throw the boy from second-floor landing, police said. When officers arrived, she jumped to the concrete below.
Investigators were on scene Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26. Officers found the unresponsive girl when they entered the apartment.
The mother and children were taken to the hospital, Upland police Capt. Marcelo Blanco said. Both children are at a trauma center.
Authorities said, the infant girl is in critical condition. The older boy is stable.
