Tuesday, October 2nd:
*Confirm Status of Transport Hearing (@ 8:30am PT) - CA - Girl (11) (June 20, 2017) - Kimberly Felder (45)("mom" arrested for brutal exorcism) accused of attempted homicide w/deadly weapon, felony child abuse & aggravated mayhem; pled not guilty by reason of insanity; $660K bail; criminal proceeds suspended pending Mental evaluation; no update as of 9/14/17 re mental evaluation hearing. Plead not guilty by reason of insanity.
6/13/18 Update: Waived her right to prelim hearing. 6/15/18 Arraignment. She is expected to plead no contest to the first charge, attempted murder with the special allegation of causing great bodily injury. In exchange, the other four charges — child abuse, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury upon a child — and one special allegation will be dropped. 6/16: Felder pleaded not guilty & not guilty by reason of insanity to a charge of attempted murder & denied a special allegation of causing great bodily injury in front of Judge Christopher Wilson on Friday (6/15) morning. She will be back in court Wednesday for a trial to determine if she was insane at the time she attacked and seriously injured her daughter on June 20, 2017.
6/22/18 Update: Change of plea and a court trial was scheduled for Kimberly Felder on June 20. She entered a no contest plea. Both attorneys submitted on doctor's reports, as indicated in minutes below from the last hearing. Judge Christopher Wilson found her not guilty by reason of insanity. Judge Wilson said both Dr. Gregory and Dr. Chamberlain were unequivocal in their opinion that Felder was incapable of distinguishing right from wrong. Receipt of CONREP report is scheduled for July 10.
7/11/18 Update: Receipt of CONREP report for Kimberly Felder was scheduled for July 10; it was continued to the 17th since no report was received. At the last court hearing, Felder was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
7/18/18 Update: Felder was ordered to be committed to state hospital. Judge Wilson told Mr. Reavis, outpatient treatment was not appropriate. A hearing is set on July 31 to confirm status of transport. 8/2: wasn’t transferred. 8/14: wasn’t transferred. 8/28 & 9/11 was transferred.
9/11/18 Update: Confirmation of transport was scheduled for Felder on Sept. 11. At the Aug. 28 hearing, it was stated she was #7 on a waiting list, expected to be admitted to a state hospital in early October. She was still in custody on Sept. 10. Today, the hearing was continued to Oct. 2. Felder is expected to be admitted by Oct. 1.
