Mom Allegedly Stabbed Son, 11, After Disneyland Trip; Police Found His Body Surrounded by Souvenirs

Saritha Ramaraju, 48, was charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 11-year-old son, Yatin Ramaraju, on Wednesday, March 19, at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Santa Ana, Calif. The mother and son had visited Disneyland prior to the alleged murder.

Saritha Ramaraju, 48, was charged with one count of murder and one count of personally using a deadly weapon, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE. She faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life if convicted on all charges, per the O.C. District Attorney.

Appears she was in a custody battle with the father who she had issues with. She slit his throat and left him on the bed in a motel room filled with Disney souvenirs. She also attempted suicide by taking some unknown pills.

Too many people have ‘custody issues’ and then kill the child as a form of retaliation. Like how does that even make sense??! You don’t want anyone to have them so you kill them instead - make it make sense!

I don’t believe for a second she really wanted to kill herself. This was a total revenge move on her ex and she wanted to be alive to watch him suffer. This is MOO but I hope she doesn’t try to claim mental illness or something else. This was just pure evil. MOO
