Hoping that this is just an altercation between patrons, rather than yet another mass casualty attack :(

Bolded by me:

Gable House Bowl patron Jesus Perez told the Los Angeles Times that he heard about four gunshots.

"We just ran right into the bar and took cover. All we heard was just, like two people got shot," he told the newspaper.

It seems as though this is 'just' a fight that escalated out of control, rather than a targeted attack:

Perez said he heard about four gunshots.

"We heard there was a big fight before that. We just ran into the bar and we just took cover because after the fight we heard ‘pop! pop!’"

He said he took cover for about 15 minutes and a security guard escorted him out the back.

This is VERY local to me, (as in walking distance if I felt so inclined). All indications point to a targeted attack as opposed to terrorism or rampage killing. Gang activity has been present during night time hours for quite awhile now. It's a shame. I grew up here and remember bowling there often. My 16yr old son played Laser Tag at the adjoining business a few times during middle school and I remember being uneasy about it then.

Police Chief Eve Irvine said Reginald Wallace was quickly identified with video footage and by witnesses as the gunman who opened fire on more than a dozen people fighting late Friday night at Gable House Bowl on Hawthorne Boulevard, a popular hangout and South Bay institution.

Wallace was taken into custody after 4 a.m. Sunday by Torrance police and SWAT officers at 4th Street and Western Avenue in Los Angeles, police said. He is being held without bail, jail records show.

[...]

Robert Earl Meekins Jr. and Astin Kyle Edwards, both 28, and Michael Di’Shawn Radford, 20, were killed in the shooting. Two others were taken to a hospital and two more sought medical treatment on their own, police said.

[...]

Irvine declined to say whether police found the handgun, what caliber it was or how Wallace obtained it. He was released from prison in 2017 after serving 17 years for a conviction for an assault with a deadly weapon with a firearm, police said.

Court records show Wallace was acquitted of attempted murder in the December 1998 case and sentenced to 21 years behind bars. The year before, he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm in a school zone and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Parolee Pleads Not Guilty to Triple-Killing at Bowling Alley in Torrance
Three people were killed and four others were injured during the shooting

Mar 19, 2019

"A parolee who allegedly killed three men and wounded four others at a bowling alley in Torrance about 2 1/2 months ago pleaded not guilty Tuesday to triple murder and other charges.

Reginald Leander Wallace, 47, of Los Angeles, is charged with the shooting deaths of Michael Radford, 20, and Robert Meekins and Astin Edwards, both 28, at Gable House Bowl at 22501 Hawthorne Blvd. He also faces four counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

The murder charges include the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder to further the activities of a criminal street gang, along with allegations of using a handgun causing great bodily injury and death. Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against Wallace, who was arrested by Torrance police two days after the shooting....

Wallace is due back in a Torrance courtroom May 23, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to allow the case against him to proceed to trial."
