How about Namus MP #10090

Name: Noppajan Lo

She went missing on October 12th, 2004. I don't think that it's a 'smoking gun' kind of lead, but the face does match the composite sketch closely in my opinion. Accordingly, hair and race match and so does the age (low end of the range).

Lo is missing from California, but a different part. Also, she is missing with her son while our Doe was only found by herself. Furthermore, there's a focus on the Doe only been dead for a year, but those things aren't exact. Maybe time to open minds a little?

I put the GPS coordinates from the Namus file into Google Maps and came up with this as the location where the remains were found: https://goo.gl/maps/SHgo3rNwP4E2

I noticed that just on the other side of Route 20, there's the Burlington OHV area -- OHV is "off highway vehicle" area. The place to the south marked "Chalk Bluff Staging Area" is a place where aficionados can park their on-highway vehicles (usually pickup or trailer), remove the offroad vehicle, and hit the trails. I found information about the area in a database of offroad trails:
https://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/california_12316/ride_6f85.htm
Apparently it's only for motorcycles, not ATVs or dune buggies.

It's probably not significant, except that it seems to be a reason for people from farther away to be in a relatively isolated area.

NamUs says "blue 'Ming Shi Jia Ren' jeans were found at the scene." I'm no expert but "Ming Shi Jia Ren" sounds like it may be Chinese...maybe Jane Doe was a Chinese immigrant?

Yes, very sure it is Chinese. Wondering if they have the Chinese characters that go with the pinyin as well?

I found a 2012 Shanghai TV show "Luan Shi Jia Ren" which was translated as A Beauty in Troubled Times (
A Beauty in Troubled Times - DramaWiki

And a 1960 Hong Kong movie "Ru shi jia ren" which was translated as A Challenge of Love.

And a dictionary jue shi jia ren | Definition | Mandarin Chinese Pinyin English Dictionary | Yabla Chinese that says "jue shi jia ren" means "a woman of unmatched beauty"(idiom)

But no ming shi jia ren. "Ming" according to to the same dictionary is something like bright or famous, so the jeans name might translate to roughly "famous beauty" or something along those lines. Mayne. I'm guessing.

Given recent news about Chinese girls being held prisoner to work in sex shops, I'm afraid she might have been "imported" and unknown to anybody in this country. :(

'Ming' means along the lines of famous/bright, and 'ren' I'm very sure in this context means person. I can speak Chinese, but unfortunately I can barely read Chinese characters/pinyin. I do have quite a fair few clothes bought from China that have both the pinyin and Chinese characters, and if there's Chinese characters associated with the 'Ming shi jia ren', then it would provide another clue as to who our Jane Doe was. Right now I will ask my family members what 'Ming shi jia ren' means and if they know if it's a well known brand in China.

I'm from China and I never heard of that brand.
and yes, "Jia Ren" means beautiful woman, "Ming" in this context means famous Imo, and "Shi" means world or time.

however, Min Shi Jia Ren isn't Romanized Pinyin, which Taiwanese brands use.

Agreed, and sorry I should have explained my thinking in the earlier post. I lived in Taiwan for a few years until 2003, so not long before this UID died. It was common for my colleagues to travel to Hong Kong on vacation and go on shopping sprees of mainland-made clothes, handbags, makeup etc. Those who held a foreign passport (back then China was not yet open to Taiwanese) often crossed over the border to shop in China itself. Not saying you are wrong, just throwing it out there.

I know it is a stretch, but Cynthia Sunga who went missing from Canada comes to mind. She is listed as Asian, had moved to Canada from the Philippines, and had a tattoo with Chinese lettering.
Canada's Missing | Case details

Also if the remains had been there longer, Jin Mei Li is another possibility. She was in the US on a performing arts Visa and disappeared from her Hotel in California. There is no picture however.

I'm not local to the area but have spent a decent amount of time in San Francisco's Chinatown. There's a lot of stores there that sell Chinese brand clothes, and I don't think any of them are 'big name' brands in China. SF is about a 3 hour drive from Nevada City and has a very large Chinese population, so perhaps she could be from there?

It's odd that I can't find anything about "Ming Shi Jia Ren" on the internet, besides these pants. I mean wouldn't there at least be some sort of record that this brand existed somewhere?
Maybe they were custom-made at a boutique or something like that?
