Two persons searching the Mojave Desert for arrowheads found a human skull ... in a desert wash near Newberry and Stem Roads, about two miles south of Interstate 15 and directly north of Newberry Springs along Interstate 40.

That's interesting; I thought about April Beth Pitzer, too, since that is the area where she went missing. Any news about the gender or how long the skull was there?

Skeletal remains found in a wash in Newberry Springs are ancient American Indian bones, according to officials.

Barstow Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wash area near Newberry Road and Stem Road in Newberry Springs on August 28 after two people looking for arrowheads in the area found a human skull, according to a sheriff’s report.
