If you're talking about the nurse who was found dead in Napa, it's about a 7 - 8 hour drive.

I was way off. I thought it was So. Cal as well.

The belongings found belonged to Norma, will not id them to the press.

Authorities today identified a body found in Moreno Valley as a missing 17-year-old girl who police feared had been abducted last week.

The announcement was made by Riverside County sheriff's officials this afternoon.

Norma Lopez's remains were found Tuesday afternoon by a resident doing yard work off Theodore Street and Dracaea Avenue. Police believe Norma was dumped there in a grove of trees, off the rural two-lane road, west of Gilman Springs Road and south of the upcoming Sketchers warehouse site.

Having lived in the desert (but at over 4,000 feet elevation) if you have 22% humidity with that level of actual temp. It's bad. Real bad. 22% might seem like nothing compared to the southeast but the sun is different in the SW and CA in my humble opinion.

Yes, had a few over 100 degree days here in cali last week that were fairly miserable. Very hot & dry.

This is very sad. I can't believe she can be taken in broad daylight. Well, it happened here too, so I guess it does happen. It just seems like it shouldn't.

Too young and beautiful.

My condolences to the family and friends.

May she RIP.

Sincerely,
fran

Norma, may you rest in peace in Heaven with God and His angels :rose:

May God give Norma's family the strength they need to get through this horrendous tragedy, and give LE Norma's killer.... :prayer:

"On Tuesday, a resident driving his tractor-mower in a large, remote field found human remains near a stretch of desert road a few miles from the site where investigators had searched. The decomposed body, shirtless and clad in jeans, was found face-down in a grove of trees."

This answers my questions last night about why LE couldn't say if the body was male or female, but now I wonder where her blouse is and also where she was killed, and if it was maybe in the SUV. So sad.

Oh no. I was hoping against hope it wasn't Norma. I'm so sorry.

Prayers to her family and friends.

RIP beautiful girl. Your killer will be found.

Oh this poor child.

Le needs to get on the stick and find this perp. This was so easy for him and he isn't going to stop here.
I hope they are beating on every persons door who own a van fitting this description for a hundred miles around.

We get reports of attempted kidnappings here several times a week. But I did remember one in the same county from the end of May.
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/inland_empire&id=7468785

From about 40mins away (which may seem "far" but it isn't when you live here) A man attempted to kidnap 2 high school students in a blue Jeep Cherokee

Also from the same county as Norma, back in January:
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_8068/is_20100128/ai_n48758688/

At the end of June a man tried to abduct a 5 year old in nearby Corona at the end of June
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/inland_empire&id=7530291

In Nearby LA a man tried to kidnap a 10 year old on July 3rd

Thank you for this very pertinent post. There is an artist sketch in here, and I would hope LE is working to see if they can come up with anything.

RIP, beautiful Norma!~

I'm up late, so I kept checking last night until LE said there would be an autopsy this morning. When I saw today that she'd been identified, I was so upset. My prayers go out to Norma's family. RIP, Norma. I hope one day we can stop these people who prey on our beautiful children like you.
