Are there any abandoned buildings in the area? Houses, factories, malls, whatever? California City is in the middle of a desert and that severely limits the options for dumping a body with minimal risk of being spotted. And digging a grave in that soil would be really, really hard. So the easiest option maybe would be burying the body (or bodies) on some abandoned property. Putting them into the walls, digging under the crawlspace, digging a hole in an old concrete floor, pouring a new layer and then covering it with debris. Are such places anywhere in CC?

Thank you so much you & all your hard work is so appreciated!!

In past cases like angels Gannon, baby Evelyn & even earlier our beautiful soul Sierra’s cases someone did maps with points of interest pinned on it. Do you know who did these or can do them? Can we have one started here for us not familiar with the area?

Again thank you AmandaReckonwith.
Roll call for all WS readers who are locals to this area. We all know very well how crucial locals are to pushing forward with investigative analysis. Mappers are necessary. I had a crash course in Gannon’s case and I’m not up for it again. I struggled directionally. Help! Any locals out there reading who wanna sign up and help! It’s an easy process and many of us will help you out with posting if you’re hesitant. We love our locals. C’mon, give it a shot.

Most areas have local dumping grounds. Ours are usually around our rivers, lakes or quarries. Any old wells around?

I really feel for the extended family. From day one there has been community outrage. I understand it but it’s been taken much too far.

Im glad the extended family made a statement. I think it has to be hard to hear your baby family members are missing and your own brother and sister in law are suspected of foul play. I’m glad they are supporting finding the truth. I think they were trying to explain why they’ve been quiet and not searching because they’ve bombarded on sm.

Re: the family statement. I was surprised to learn that all four of the adopted children are bio sibs/have the same mom. Do we know the gender of those children?

I may be assuming too much. With the use of “our grandchildren” Did the grandparents author the letter with combined emotional support and input from the extended family? Grandparents especially will grieve in ways not understandable unless you’re one. All other feelings are secondary.

“The boys and their sibling joined our family legally last year when the parental rights of their birth mother were taken away by the State of California and the birth fathers collectively gave up their parental rights.”bbm

So three siblings in total?

On Monday December 21 our youngest two grandchildren/nephews/cousins were reported missing by their parents in California City. bbm

I notice it wasn’t said reported by our son or SIL or daughter or DIL. Was this intentionally distancing language to avoid identification of author/family? Or some other reason? There certainly is a lot to unpack in this statement. I’ve barely got it opened. As my buddy has always said: “Words don’t come from a vacuum.”

I am confused about the use of siblings in that family statement.
I thought that 2 of the boys were biological sons of Trezell and Jacqueline.
And Orrin/Cincere and Orson/Classic were sons of Ryan Dean and 2 fathers.

Not that it matters, unless it does matter somehow.

I wonder if they were digging up water pipes or the sewer line, like someone mentioned upthread. Maybe they found evidence of something in the bathtub or sink drains.

Septic tank reminds me of the Noah case (cannot recall the last name in that case)

I don't see anything wrong with the extended family's statement, The do talk about the boys and mention their name, they do however seem to be distancing themselves from the adopted parents they never even used their names. Not even a, we stand by them statement and they will never hurt the boys.

I am glad to see updated pics on their blog especially of Orson, he has such a mischievous cute smile.

TY for the TY.

I just do maps from Google, and add them to the archive, but I do remember that someone did a detailed area map, with searches pinpointed, etc,
I don't remember who that talented person is.

It sounds like there are four adopted siblings altogether. It says the boys and "their two siblings" joined the family last year. The parents have two older biological children.

The family said they are working to protect and shield the other children. I hope that means the rest of the kids are with their extended family rather than with strangers in foster care.

Also I do think the statement was likely written by the grandparents. They say they live hundreds of thousands of miles away. (although they might be referring to the rest of the extended family)

I wonder if they are the grandparents the other children were with when the boys disappeared.

I'm also wondering if the parents and Orrin and Orson were expected to visit them for Christmas.

Imo

I've followed more than a few missing kid cases and can't recall any where family immediately received death threats.

Anyone else find that weird?

Did you hear the angry ranting and chanting outside their home the other day?
I think there are some seriously unglued people hanging around this case so it doesn't surprise me in the least there have been death threats.
It's like the comment section of a FB post came out in real life. o_O

ETA: Missing kid cases & death threats: yes. Both Gannon Stauch's step mom and Lucas Hernandez' step mom were receiving death threats on social media almost immediately after they went missing. Now, in those two cases, both women were guilty, but the ones issuing the death threats didn't know that when they issued them. They just assumed and fired away.

Very interesting especially contextually - in the same sentence the boys names are used. For the first time! I didn’t realize this was part of the family statement. I’ve had my coffee now. My ‘too quick of a glance’ read it as an ending with a repeat of the tip line. Is the family statement a well prepared informative intentionally specifically worded message?

unpack as in open and remove the contents of (a suitcase, bag, box, container or package) to analyze, organize, distribute the contents...
IMO, I found the whole statement excessively wordy and odd choices verbally used.

I read the statement as 4 siblings being adopted together. That is what is stated first. Later the statement has "sibling" singular, but there is another instance of a noun that should be plural but lacks an 's'. Because the statement carefully spells out the emergency placement in foster care and subsequent adoption of 4 siblings, I think the missing 's' later on is just an oversight.

It implies 3, yes , but I believe that is a missed spelling and was meant as “siblings “.
There are a total of 6 kids tied to this couple (adoptive parents). 2 are biological and the oldest, 2 are adopted sibs and middle children and then the 2 sibs who are currently unaccounted for.

This info is available on the socials but also here.

Adoptive family of missing California City boys issues statement | KGET 17
[...]

“Our priority is to find out where our boys are and their safe return. The truth has to and will come to light,” the statement attributed to the West family said Sunday night.

The statement posted to Medium and shared with 17 News also says members of the extended West family have received death threats since Orson’s and Orrin’s disappearances. The statement says family members had been advised to avoid the public because of the intensity and amount of threats they had received.

[...]

We thank those who are standing in the gap by searching as volunteers and fully support all law enforcement agencies in fully investigating all possible scenarios and leaving no stone unturned. For those who have attacked us, wish us harm and ill will — we will continue to pray for you and ask that you direct your energy on helping the actual search.

WEST FAMILY STATEMENT

[...]
In re-reading this statement, I've found absolutely nothing concerning at all.
Other than a typo in one sentence (sibling, instead of siblings), this statement reads as perfectly reasonable and understandable.
My heart goes out to this family.

So does mine. bbm I hope my posts don’t sound accusatory toward this pained family. I apologize to readers if I come across this way. My main point is my own perception of distancing language used separating themselves from the adoptive parents (as the individuals and family members involved). imo moo

Maybe it seemed wordy because they wanted to explain the background and family dynamics, which is a little hard to explain. At least it's clearer now.

They also probably felt the need to address the vandalism and death threats, and politely ask people to stop. They are already under a huge amount of stress.

At least they provided two new pictures of the boys.

As they said, the truth has to and will come to light. They probably have suspicions of their own.
