I was referring to the claim that the dog's name was chalk and that it was an example of misinformation by the parents.

Seriously. How do you expect a 3 and 4 old to not play in the dirt,and stay close while you are running around throwing wood, in the cold, While your wife is warm, inside wrapping gifts?

He pretty much mumbled,and tripped through those words too. Not as clear and concise as "it was cold, I was throwing wood" "My wife was inside wrapping gifts". MOO

That basically says that foster parents should use reasonable and prudent standards and they will receive training on what that is. I'm not entirely sure what that means. One thing we do know is that Tw & JW have not behaved reasonably or prudent.

The adoptive parents stated that the missing boys were "too young" to go the grandmothers which is interesting. Maybe she is not allowed to have young children in her home with her other foster children.

From the official family statement:

It should be noted that the two brothers are the youngest of four adopted siblings and share two older siblings who are the biological children of their adoptive parents. That is six children in total who are our primary focus.

I doubt the family is wrong about the kids being adopted.

They might have said they were 'too young' to stay at the grandparents, because they were thinking about the grandparents themselves. Having to care for 4 children above the age of 5 is much easier than adding 2 that are only 3 and 4 to the mix.

One needs to closely supervise the 3 and 4 year olds, unlike the older ones. The grandparents would need to deal with night time pull ups and/or night time accidents, etc etc.

Babysitting my 5 yr old granddaughter is a joy and I jump at the chance. But if they threw in a 3 and 4 yr old for me to watch as well, it would be much more difficult. So maybe they meant the 2 youngest were 'too young' for the grandparents to have while also having the 4 oldest and their own foster children as well?

We don't know for sure. Police may have collected the chalk for evidence. Someone mentioned early on that latent fingerprints could possibly be found on chalk. I'm not sure about DNA but I guess it's possible.

Where are those sweet boys? I can not believe it has been this long and JW and TW have not admitted the real truth yet . They are both just digging themselves bigger holes IMO
I’m thinking that LE knows the story is made up , and right now they know that these boys are deceased . They also know , that they need to find them , and they are having a hard time Bc those 2 aren’t budging . What does grandma know ? Did she threaten to call the police if they didn’t ? Why that particular day ? What was the relevance of that day ? Only PHONEs given back . Not iPads .

*I wish the Chief would have defined “multiple.” It’s def more than two, correct? Two is couple, three might be few, more than three is several or multiple. I also wish reporter would have put the word multiple in a quote from Chief.

I doubt the parents will show. I certainly wouldn't if I were them.
Some of the conduct from "concerned citizens" has been downright scary.

Reviewing. Anything we can add to this dated Dec 22:

In the search for those answers, here's what authorities have done so far in the case, according to Walker.

• Excavated the parents backyard, to make sure the boys weren't buried underneath
• Used search dogs which found the scent of the boys inside the home, but not outside as they were reported to be before disappearing
• Used cadaver dogs inside the home -- no scent of human remains detected.
• Search warrant used to collect items from the home, including adoptive parents cell phones, ipads and other electronic devices. Phones have since been returned.
• Adoptive parents van tested with luminol - no indication of blood found.
• Spoke neighbors in the area. No positive ID of any of the Wests 6 children. Walker says the family only moved to California City in September. They previously lived in Bakersfield.
• Searched adoptive parents previous properties in Bakersfield
• Searched former Saddle Ranch Resort property

According to Walker, the last time the boys were seen by anyone other than the Wests was by their grandmother in Bakersfield. Walker was unable to comment on when that occurred.

Before that, Walker said someone other than family also saw the boys in Bakersfield. Walker was unable to comment on that date as well.

It’s still on for tonight, they’re warning people to bundle up and wear winter coats for the rain (I laughed since I’m in MN) but glad they’re still doing it. I would guess it has nothing to do with any fam and that they’re not expected to go given their previous actions and all the daily drama from “citizens”
it will be annoying to me when said citizens call them out for not going.. they’d be chewed right up!!!

I wonder about what was in the van that caused them to do the luminol test, and what caused Walker to suspect foul play. Must be something pretty significant to say that, and put the other 4 in protective custody. Why are they are not making a big fuss about any of this. Where are the recent pics that JW said was on their phones? Where are the desperate cries for Orrin, Orson, and the remaining 4, being a thorn in LE side? The silence is deafening. MOO

Yeah, I wouldn't expect them to be there either.

What I would have expected was for them to keep the boy's names and pictures in the media, hang up posters everywhere, made public pleas for help finding the boys, and arranged searches with family and friends throughout the last month.

But yes, the community hasn't helped much by immediately condemning and pointing fingers at the parents. It doesn't help the investigation, either. Imo
