I am not suggesting that Orson and Orrin’s disappearance has anything to do with this article. But I stumbled on it and when I read it I thought that we at Websleuths should be more aware of this type of child disappearance, and consider it in many of the cases we follow. (Sadly I think Orson and Orrin’s fate is even worse).

That is absolutely horrible to read. As someone who wanted to be a parent but never had it happen, it sickens me that there are people who do this type of stuff. These kids could have gone to actual loving families instead of people who just wanted to get rid of them at the first possible sign of trouble.

Surely the Wests took a photo on their birthdays in 2020? June and August. If TW and JW can't produce Orrin's 4th birthday photo(s) from August - candles being blown out or gifts being opened, etc then we know this goes months back, in my opinion only.

Looks like there could be a bruise in healing stage under Orrin’s left eye? I wonder when these pics were taken, if the boys were in the AP’s care at the time.
Little guy may have come about the bruise innocently.
Maybe, maybe not.....

Is there an abundance of recent pictures of the other children? I feel like the fact that there seems to be no recent pictures of these kids very odd.

So, I do wonder, are there pictures of the other kids and just not of Orson and Orrin? Or there are no recent pictures of any of the kids?

I don’t want to actually see the pictures of the other kids, we can’t share those and even if we could, I don’t think I would. But has anyone seen any?

It does look like a bruise, and given their current status, it does raise eyebrows.

However, in fairness, kids face plant routinely at that age. Those little leggies sometimes get moving so fast, the rest of their body can't keep up... and plop they go!

I do agree with those of you who notice they look worried and fretful in their pictures. Perhaps they were wary around new faces, or just fretful due to other factors; hard to say. I don't see that "hollow eyed" look that is the hallmark of severely neglected/abused kids. I just see wariness.

Dear heavens! Why is this legal?! I would much rather see a closely regulated state orphanage with lots of eyes on it and benefactors, vs. foster care and shuffling kids around. I know lots of folks disagree with me, but at least there could be consistency in care, education, and health care. Benefactors could enrich that experience. The current system and this frightening "re-homing" scenario is very very worrisome.

I don’t want to actually see the pictures of the other kids, we can’t share those and even if we could, I don’t think I would. But has anyone seen any?

I have to wonder if the public is making more of a thing out of the pictures of the boys, than LE is. LE have their pics, and they've distributed them. For all we know, those are the only pics they asked for, and they're fine with those being the pics we're all seeing.

I could be wrong, but has there been any mention from LE that the parents are not cooperating by not providing different/more pics?

Is it possible the public is so used to seeing people posting 8 million pics of their kids online on their various social media accounts (oddly, a practice many LE and many victim advocates strongly advise against doing), that because we're not seeing that here, we assume the worst?

If LE has requested pictures of this type/time frame, and the parents can't or won't produce them TO LE, I agree - it seems like a very bad sign.

you know what is interesting...JW and TW were interviewed by the media ....they never did a press conference with police... That is strange!!!

While we do not know for sure that LE requested recent photos, we do know that releasing recent photos of missing children is law enforcement’s usual best practice.

Yikes, that's old! I don't think my teenagers have ever had their photo taken with a film camera. But yes, common sense says to release the most recent photos of a missing person. Especially of small children who can change a lot in a few months.

IF the two photos provided were the most recent & not that of a year ago (as sticking with the Fed Guide suggestion) I don’t think the issue of more photos would even be an issue right now, huh?

Perhaps since LE termed the case “foul play” from day 2, they might be in leaning towards not needing photos when looking for remains? The only searches involving LE to my knowledge has been from the possible tips & leads & not from their own agenda. Correct me if I’m wrong.

LE’s focus have been more of the recovery end. Digging in the backyard, sifting through ashes, looking in walls & under the cement & ground....

Im speculating here but I have a feeling that the boys were supposed to have a visit with the bio mom on Christmas Day possibly , and that may be why they got backed in the corner.
