MISSING BOYS UPDATE: With guns drawn, authorities execute a search warrant at the home of the missing California City boys Tuesday, where their adoptive parents reported them missing on Dec 21. Chief Walker provides update on missing boys | News | desertnews.com
[...]

“We have not been able to put together how the boys got out of the yard or where they've gone,” Walker said.

[...]

On Dec. 23, CCPD and other agencies searched began a hours-long examination of the back yard. According to Walker, the investigation turned up nothing. He added police dogs have not been able to find traces of the boys outside of the house.

[...]

Walker did state none of the neighbors have ever seen either boy since the family moved to California City in September.

Unmarked police cars continue to monitor the area for any suspicious activity and keep an eye on the house. ...

[...]

Walker said the investigation will continue to focus on the immediate vicinity unless new information leads them to search the larger desert area.

[...]

“Until we determine one way or another what happened to the [missing] children, the other four children are taken out of the home,” Walker said, adding Children Services makes the final call on whether to return custody prior to the investigation's conclusion.

Brain fart. Checked Kern County but didn't think about CCPD. It might be tough trying to find out if they are arrested because of the different agencies and not knowing which one would make the arrests
Vinelink- VINELink

ETA- CC likely doesn't have a jail, maybe just a holding area until they are transported for booking at the Kern County Jail in Bakersfield. So it may not make a difference. This isn't a federal crime to our knowledge, so even if FBI or BPD arrested they would still be booked at KCJ, JMO.

One thing I picked up on in the adoptive parents news interview, as the husband speaks about the timeline of events, the wife continually nods her head as she rocks back and forth. Thinking about this, why would someone be nodding their head with authority after things being said by someone else? If they are guilty of foul play, they would have to come up with a scripted, rehearsed timeline and as one person is recanting that rehearsed story the other would be reacting to the words being spoken as they are getting the events they rehearsed correctly, likely by nodding their head. All my own opinion obviously.

Thank you. I have a feeling it will go through Kern County but it's good to have another link because CCPD doesn't have that function

If the boys have been gone much longer than we first heard, I am left wondering why the parents chose December 21 as the day to report them "missing". Did something push them into acting on the 21st?
Possibly other children returning home for Christmas.

Guns drawn? What the heck??? Just an hour or so earlier Chief Walker said the parents were not at the house. What's going on?

That's a great question. Maybe with Christmas coming up they were going to be required to make a family appearance somewhere?

I still need an answer as to how long the other four kids have been "on vacation with Grandma". When we learn that, we'll have an idea just how long the boys have potentially been missing.

Ah, okay. The reporter said LE didn't know if anyone was in the house. They went in through the side gate then apparently unlocked the front door.

Reporter said it was the second search warrant. Why did LE feel they needed their guns out in order to execute it? Did they consider the parents dangerous or was it standard procedure?

Parents' phones and "at least one vehicle" are still in police custody. Reporter asked about technicians taking out large bags and LE responded they were just gathering evidence, something they collected from the home that will help them in their investigation. He also said LE has not been searching the desert as at this point the investigation hasn't led them to going out there to recover a body.

IMO something's going on.

Likely a mandatory clearing protocol for safety, JMO.

Bringing the full interview with parents back up for review. It's been raised previously, when the camera man zooms in on TW's hands - did he see something which they were trying to capture on camera? Then at the end when they are walking in the house, the camera man tries to zoom in again. It's a bit strange right?

I confess, I have not read every page of this thread.
Will someone take pity on me and tell me if there has been a search of the home where the adoptive parents previously lived? It’s to me that a luminal might come in handy.

CCPD conducts another search of missing boys' home

[...]

Bakersfield Police Department on Tuesday provided a Crime Scene Unit team to help examine on the house. Officers first entered the home through the garage after no one answered the front door. Authorities gained entry through the garage and soon after through the front door, with some officers drawing side arms.

[...]

A group later existed the building with bagged items considered evidence.

According to CCPD, Tuesday's search did not result in named suspects, but declined to provide more information on the nature of the search beyond collecting more evidence to help in the investigation. However, the evidence will be examined by Bakersfield Police Department as part of a partnership with California City Police Department.

I think they know already what happened and are just trying to nail the case down
