No evidence of how they got out of the yard?
What the heck, did he forget to unlock and open the gate before he called LE?
Maybe that's part of the video collected from neighbor's which was mentioned by Chief Walker. IMO, it's going to be a big part of this case.

Things are unraveling...and not soon enough.
Just hope enough evidence can be uncovered.

Wasn't it stated that the two boys were seen a couple of days before they vanished? Sorry, I'm a bit behind.
No one has seen them since this family moved there in September??
Going to look at the PC now...didn't know there was one.
Yes, according to the reporter in the video at this link, the neighbors said they hadn't seen them in the past day and a half. It's near the end. MOO

Thanks.
That a neighbor said she hadn't seen the boys in "the last day and a half" I had assumed she had seen the boys before that. Maybe a question was phrased to elicit that response, as per "have you seen them since they went missing?"
So now it appears that NO ONE has seen them at all? Yikes.
Sitting on my hands.....again.

Interesting- that sort of means something different now in hindsight. Could that mean that Grandma came and got the older kids a day and a half before the boys disappeared? That's what the neighbor means? But that flies in the face of what Chief Walker said today? I'm having a hard time making sense of what's going on?

I'm really not inclined to believe some kidnapper just so happened to be lurking out in the dark, cold, semi-rural desert near their residence, at the precise moment that AD mistakenly leaves a back gate open, allowing BOTH young children the opportunity to abandon the chalk drawings in favor of venturing out into what had to have been a rapidly darkening desert surroundings. When my kids were that age, not only were they noisy, but never do I recall them being able to traverse long distances without their attention being caught repeatedly along the way by everything imaginable. Hard to believe they vanished beyond eyesight and earshot in the time needed to drop off the gathering of firewood. I'm in camp they-have-been-gone-for-some-time. Sadly. MOO

Beats me, Knox! I sort of think the reporter's intention was to highlight the fact that the neighbor hadn't seen the boys since they were reported missing. But, had the neighbor ever seen them? Sounds like maybe that wasn't asked. ? MOO

That what I think....
Also a possibility that the neighbor could have seen two OTHER boys in that family (they have 6 kids, 2 other adopted ones, and two of their own), and assumed it was them who vanished. (especially if Orrin and Orson were possibly never there at all)

AD: "...call the cops..call.. telephone city Police department. Call them and let know what you've seen if you see anything. Our boys, they, they are going to be ...Rambunctious..."

MOO, but to describe the boys as "rambunctious" while they went missing in the cold and dark is not appropriate language. MOO is this seems like blame is subtly shifted to the boys.

I see your point. I took it slightly different, but similar. I thought it positioned the children as being live wires capable of "breaking out" and going adventuring (and getting lost).

Amateur opinion and speculation

I thought he was implying the boys were likely to run off or explore, and may have gotten lost. He seemed convinced they were in the neighborhood somewhere, or at least wanted it to sound that way. Imo

I wonder what grandma (who supposedly had the 4 other children when the boys went missing) thinks. How long did she have the other kids? What was she told about these two? Does she suspect something is off?

  • #573
If the boys have been gone much longer than we first heard, I am left wondering why the parents chose December 21 as the day to report them "missing". Did something push them into acting on the 21st?
I wonder if the biological mother had recently contacted them inquiring about the children. She must have some reason to think the parents are involved. Imo

Check storage units. :(

GUILTY - CA - Shaun, 6, & Delylah Tara, 3, dead, 9 yr old tortured, Redding, 27 Nov 2015

A child abuse case that shook seasoned investigators has gotten worse.

An autopsy showed that two children found in a rented storage unit died of “ongoing physical abuse,” authorities in Monterey County, California, said at a press conference.

The children — tentatively identified as Delylah Tara, 3, and her brother, Shaun Tara, 6 — had been stuffed into a plastic storage bin, Salinas Police Chief Kelly McMillin said.

Tami Joy Huntsman, 39, will be charged with murder in the deaths, as will Gonzalo Curiel, 17, Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo said.

Thanks Pommy, guess I'll disregard that comment. I think you're right, it may have been taken out of context or confused. Chief Walker knows what's up, so I'll roll with that. Thankful we finally heard details directly from LE.

i think the video has nothing to show how the kids got out of the yard because no kids appeared in the video. i think this is one of those cases where they say they "have nothing" because they dont have literal evidence.

No evidence of how they got out of the yard?
What the heck, did he forget to unlock and open the gate before he called LE?

I’m thinking a neighbor has security camera footage showing things not happening as the parents claim they happened.

Like maybe someone didn't hop in the van and go search? JMO-

Let's review several facts here:

- Couple moved to California City into a new home in September
- Neighbors have never seen the two missing kids in question, ever
- Kids "missing" right before the holiday, when they may have been expected to be seen by other family
- Parents story tries hard to imply kids are wild (rambunctious comments) while the parents are caring (wrapping presents)

California City seems like the "perfect" place to stage the disappearance/runaway of "rambunctious" children (surrounded by desert and remote). Was this the intent of the move?

So my question is: What was the couple's purpose of moving to California City? Was there a reason for them to move there in particular in September? I think this will answer a lot of questions.

On the economics side of the house, California State Adoption Assistance Program discloses that the state pays $1,000 per month per kid which could explain adoption motivations. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just wanted to share this.
