“I realized that I left the back gate open and I panicked and came inside the house, searched the house, me and my wife. Once that didn’t pan out, I got in the van, I looked down the street in both directions, it was getting dark, getting cold.”

I don't want to be that guy who questions every single word or action, but here goes.....if you realized the gate was left open and they were gone, wouldn't your first inkling be to go check OUTSIDE where they may have roamed? Instead of searching INSIDE the house? Especially since, as I beleive he said he was on his way back OUT when he noticed they weren't there (If he was coming from outside his gate he would have seen them).

Yes! That bothered me. My thought upon seeing that...well, I homeschool and it was pointed out to me that as my son spells words correctly I nod my head yes. If he trips up, I stop nodding. I didn't realize I did it until he pointed it out! Just my opinion \experience.I don't study body language but that did jump out at me, too.

Also...we have 10+ acres. Closest neighbors are totally aware of when we go out of town, I'm sure they enjoy the peace! No possible way a day goes by that they're not outside making noise. Even when they're quiet.

I'm not liking this.

Also, them totally agreeing that foul play is suspected? WHAT? Fortunately I've never been accused of such a thing but I'm pretty sure I would be offended. Yes, I d understand LE needing to rule me out but do it quick and find my babies!
Nodding yes is actually very common. Nodding yes while a child is counting, when a child is saying their ABC’s, when a child is spelling out loud, when someone is giving some sort of oral presentation, etc.

I do it to my niece all the time. Her doing it while he’s speaking seems almost like she was recounting something rehearsed.

That's exactly what it is. Its reassurance when none is really needed.....unless he's doing a great job sticking to the story.

Agreed.
<modsnip: unnecessary and derogatory>
LE have already said they suspect foul play.
Hoping for answers soon !

The reporters did a great job asking questions at the press conference. Now the key question is:

When were O and O last seen by anyone other than the parents?

Other questions...
When did grandparents last see O and O?

JW said she had photos on her phone that police took. When were O and O last photographed?

Were there any photographs of O and O at the new house?
(It would seem the answer to this is NO based on the Chief’s response that there was evidence of children living in the home but when asked about O and O “not necessarily”. If confirmed no pics of the boys, this is incredibly worrying).

How did TW and JW explain the lack of photos/evidence of O and O?

Were all of the other children photographed at the new house?

Very worrisome.

Yes! Thank you for making my point, I dropped the ball there. My multitasking leaves much to be desired lol!

I want to know more about the timing of it. Perhaps he had a broken leg at the time he went missing, it's just that he didn't go missing recently.

I predict that the older children have been "on vacation" for three months.... perhaps never moving when the parents did, yet still a houseful of their stuff in the new house. I wonder if we're about to find out that the boys haven't been accounted for since that same move. Older children could well not be aware that the younger two were in any kind of peril (missing or otherwise) all this time.

Really curious to know what's in those wrapped gifts. Is there anything age appropriate for pre-schoolers?

I wish there were a possibility the young ones were re-homed, but sadly, I fear the worst.

Timeline's off.
Last known location might be off.

I want to be wrong.

JMO

BBM

IF the boys have been gone for longer than stated and IF that story was rehearsed, it means the parents potentially had a lot of time to set the scene. On this basis, I’m going to guess there WERE presents for pre-schoolers in the house, wrapped and ready for the police to find. JMO

Did everyone catch Chief Walker talk about the under covers that have been present watching the house?
I believe it was towards the end of his press conference where a reporter asked him about it and he answered (ish).

Thanks for posting this. No I did not hear that. But I am glad when other people post, because there's so much that were missing.

<modsnip>There are other possible avenues regarding the missing boys and at WS we look at all possibilities. I checked the sexual offender list and several live nearby. There is a park with a lake close, as I posted earlier, within a 7 minute walk. There are bio relatives that knew where the adopted boys live. I hope LE is looking into these possibilities too.

LE has said no-one has been ruled out so I would assume anyone close to the boys would be POI's.

They must have found solid evidence that points to the home since they were able to obtain warrants for the house and the vehicle so quickly. They removed several brown bags and a large duffel bag from the house, while the father stated they only took their phones.

They also quickly carried out a second search and collected more evidence which indicates they found something incriminating after the first search of the home and property.

LE said the boys scent never left the home and they have not been able to make out how the boys left the house, even though the father implied they left through an open gate after playing in the yard.

Neighbors claim to have never seen the children since the family moved there in September.

Police say that although they are cooperating, they do not know where the parents are, but someone knows, and they hope they will come forward.

The remaining four children have been placed in protective custody.

LE are not searching the neighborhood or the desert but instead are concentrating on the home.

We don't know the specific reasons why the parents are the main focus but I expect we will know more as the investigation continues. It seems to be moving pretty fast.

Imo

I want to add to her comment. LE dug up their back yard, with the sound of what a neighbor said sounded like jackhammers.

Also LE showed up yesterday with guns drawn.

There is more but my memory is not cooperating.

I wouldn't say WS's have posted derogatory comments. I appreciate how great minds have come together, sharing msm, listing facts and trying to locate these precious little boys.

Police Chief gives update

To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies.

  • The chief was not aware that Orrin had a fractured leg.
  • The chief says they do suspect foul play based on the fact that they don't know how the children left the yard.
  • The search warrant was obtained easily - the kids were missing.
  • The other children were removed as is routine until there is an investigation done by CPS.
  • 11:05 Reporter: Did the luminol find anything? Chief: Not that I know of.
  • Interesting facial expression when responding to a question about whether they are searching in Bakersfield. About 13:05.
  • About 16:30 - the chief confirms that there has never been a sighting of any of the children since the family has been there (since September).
  • He says near the end that he will have to look into whether or not the investigators want to release the 911 call.

IMHO, it's because of neighbors supposedly never saw the kids, the sniffer dog not hitting outside the home, and the lack of chalk outside. I really want to believe in the parent's innocence. With everything that LE has done and has been focusing on, it just looks bad.

Thanks for this informative post however point number 7 of this post is not what was said - the chief said he doesn’t know where either one of the boys are but someone knows and I think he knows who... IMO

The fact that they are not searching the surrounding areas is very worrisome to me. They must have reason to believe they would not be out there. Its not like the fbi doesn't have the resources to use for multiple avenues. So why focus on the home?

Good points !

During the first or second search warrants LE must have found evidence that the remaining children were not safe.
Obviously, if LE didn't suspect anyone in the home the children would have been left there !
During the search for AJ Freund, the other child was removed, as LE felt he could be in danger.
So sad.
Imo.

The second SW resulted in LE finding something --Imo.
There were two SW's in Suzanne Morphews' case, plus the destruction of the concrete foundation of the workplace where BM had laid dirt or poured cement.
Telling.
I'm going by what LE does/says and not the words or actions of involved parties.
If a relative says someone found deceased was only discovered a mile away, and died of natural causes that proves nothing.
If LE says this, that's entirely different.

This reporter stated last night that police have been going over security video footage and have found:
- no sign of the boys leaving by the gate which was supposedly left open
- no sign of an animal or anyone else entering the gate area to take the kids.
BakersfieldNow ETA around the 2:30 mark

To me this indicates that they have strong video evidence of that area. Which is why they are so focused on the home.

That said, the police chief also stated in the press conference it was possible there was an abduction/ someone picked them up in a vehicle. So not too sure how to square that... unless there is some other angle of entering or exiting the property that may not have been picked up on video. Moo

ETA a local company just announced a $10,000 reward in the case https://twitter.com/bayanwang/status/1344389410624737280?s=21
