Community searches for missing toddlers in California desert
"We are trying to eliminate people and you always start with the people closest to them and the people who saw them last,” Chief Jon Walker, California City Police, said. “Have we questioned them? Absolutely. Have we searched the house? Absolutely. The backyard, absolutely. All the other rumors are just that., rumors. And they are entitled to their privacy and people staying off of their private property."

Council to be asked to match reward money for missing boys

A staff report from City Manager Anna Linn requests adding $25,000 to the combined amount offered by three businesses to date.

In addition, Murphy's Pool and Spa of Palmdale also added $5,000 to the amount asked.

Thursday at 4, the City Council for California City is voting on whether to offer a financial reward from the city for the return of missing boys Orrin and Orson West or for information leading to the closure of the case.

This is on top of $10,000 from Greenstone Cannabis Retail Store and Preferred Towing in California City, each, and $5,000 from Murphy's Pools & Spas in Lancaster.

Kelly Kulikoff, Councilmember for California City, City Council says the Police Department is doing everything they can and he hopes this reward will help getting more people involved, that might not otherwise say anything.

"I speak with Chief Walker a couple times a day about this specific case and it's consuming all of us and he is on it," Linn [City Manager], said.

I wonder if the West's are still staying at the home after the broken window incident, etc. I would love to know how long the mother children have been at the Grandparents home? What date was the last date of any children seen, the Dec. 19? I seldom post, often feel I don't have much to add, and I love to the read the passages from the these great minds here...

Human remains found near Rosamond, bone found in Bakersfield; neither related to two missing boys in California City | KGET 17
It’s been almost three weeks since two little boys were reported missing in California City. Today – there were reports of remains found in two separate cities. Search parties are getting smaller but there are still a few people looking for the two boys.

[...]

This group of bakersfield residents has gone out to search almost everyday this past week. They scan the roads and fields near the Casa Loma Apartments in east Bakersfield.

[...]

They’ve seen a few questionable items – but they called Bakersfield Police after seeing a bone that looked like a human foot.

[...]

Police came and took a look. They consulted the coroner who determined that it seemed to be a bone from a goat.

“We’re just going to continue to search every field, canal, empty field, reservoir in the area that we can just to cover all bases because these boys need to be found,” Grandson said.

FAMILY OF MISSING BOYS — ORRIN AND ORSON WEST — OFFERS $30K REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THEIR RETURN | by The West Family | Jan, 2021 | Medium
[...]

Other ways we are asking for help:
  1. Keep the Official Investigation Going — Continue to encourage and if necessary pressure the California City Police Department, FBI, Bakersfield Police Department to make the search and investigation a priority. Law enforcement is in the best position to find the boys and bring them home. We need them to continue to leave nothing untouched and exhaust all possibilities. The Mayors, County Supervisors and other elected officials have been involved on varying levels and need to know that this case is one that needs to remain a priority until the boys are found and the truth is revealed. Call: 760.373.8606 and 661.327.7111
  2. Volunteer to Search — If you are in the cities of Bakersfield, California or California City, California and are willing to search that is an option. Covid-19 has made this option complicated for many but we are grateful to the hundreds of individuals who have already organized and joined the searches on the ground.
  3. Keep the Boys Names Lifted Up — Spread the word about the missing boys. The truth is out there and we need any and everyone who may know something to come forward to the appropriate authorities. There several rewards that are being offered for information leading to the return of the boys including one from our family.
  4. Keep PRAYING!!!!
