You mean when someone dies you're allowed to keep them in your freezer ???
No, it's a felony, can lead to a jail sentence of a few years (though unlikely served in full).

IMO, when there's no proof of assault, theft or other types of malice/criminal behaviour, the legal system often decides there's more important/harmful crimes to prosecute.

In this case, her husband was responsible for reporting her death, but he's dead too. I don't think they'd charge someone else, just because her husband died and "someone has to be punished".

I know.
It wasn't a serious remark on my part.

I should have put an S for sarcasm. :)

Am I the only one who remembered they said the body had traumatic injuries? I was wondering if she was possible dismembered and placed in there? A larger woman won’t usually fit in a cheese freezer. This whole story is a mess poor Mary

Also. California (San Diego included) is expensive asl and there are countless cases of elder neglect and or abuse and ppl concealing death to keep property or their checks coming so this is sadly not shocking
