itr would pile up here too but someone could be using her bank card.

If her money was piling up for years with no activity the banks are known to freeze the account and/or just the debit card .
I recently found out that one account that I have was frozen, debit card not checks.
I don't use checks and hadn't used this debit card in over a year and when I tried to use the card it was declined.
Called bank and I had to go in person and do some signing and the account was again usable.
He told me I have to make one transaction per year.
Oh, and I was charged $15.00 a month for 12 months.
Closed it out and went to my credit union.

According to family info in 2012 Mary was married to RH and living in San Diego.
So we're looking at a 3-ish yr time span to begin the 9-ish years LE claims MM was missing or dead.

Mary would have had to have slews of people,family and friends not speaking with her for no inquiries into where the hell is she and no networking.
imo: The odds are against that which makes her death and discovery touching on the surreal.
Maybe the 9 yr timeline we keep hearing about is off?
That remains to be seen when the investigation is completed.

Appears to be a NPE; born a J but raised a B until his death (plus other inconsistencies that are inconsequential to this case). Thus, the Jones to MM’s Jones-Haxby. IMO.

Agree with all your questions, and to me, they all seem so straightforward to answer, except perhaps cause of death and WHY (but my guess is $$). The others though, that is what we have databases for in this day and age.

I've been following along the whole time, and is it just me or does this case seem unnecessarily cryptic? Why is it taking so long to even get the basic facts of what happened here or how the people that found her were related?

Maybe it's my imagination, maybe just typical California case backlog, and if this is San Diego county, typical lack of transparency and reporting. Agree with those that this seems like someone wanted to reap the benefits of her benefits. Very sad.

I agree. However, IMO it is cryptic because it involves a person who is known to the people who discovered her body. That person presumably put her remains in that freezer, and it hasn't yet been determined what charges that person may face.

Mary would be 82 if she'd lived. Not all families stay in touch, especially when they live far apart. She seems not to have had children.

Mary could quite possibly have distant living blood relatives, but verifying that would mean sleuthing outside of WS TOS. I didn’t intend to cause more confusion. Her family tree is complex, suggesting the following quote is probably accurate (from the perspective of this relative-by-marriage). IMO

There are families with such genetic trait. When I started working at my family tree, I found one line where people exhibit true splitting. Either the relatives are the best ever, or someone doesn’t talk to someone else. The goal is usually to remember who likes whom, and who doesn’t talk to whom. It makes genetic work problematic, but on the other hand, helps with phasing. So maybe this is what happened with Mary, just got on the bad side. A good teaching story.

Right, but I don’t think the account was ever inactive. I think someone was using it the whole time.

As you day, could be a legacy of the family system, but it also occurs to me, abusive relationships are sometimes associated with isolating the victim from family and past friends.

I'm not implying that's the case here. I know of a couple of people who kept their beloved dead pet in a freezer.
