Horrifying new details have emerged in the killing of a 13-year-old California who was found dead after she had gone missing, say authorities.

Patricia “Patty” Alatorre of Bakersfield was reported missing on July 1, the Bakersfield Police Department said in a release.

She was last seen on surveillance video getting into a white truck at about 11:30 p.m. that night, say police.

On Monday, Armando Cruz, 24, of Inglewood, was arrested and charged with 12 felony counts including first-degree murder, kidnapping, rape by force/fear, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and contacting a minor with intent to commit sexual offense, according to Kern County Superior Court records.

On Tuesday he pleaded not guilty.

Also, pure speculation, I think she may have Fragile X Syndrome. And IF that is the case, it should be revealed. MOO.

This has been on my mind all night.

For those who have kids as I don't .Would showing teens an article like this but edited , a good idea to know what is out there or would that traumatize them?

Excuse the preaching..
What is wrong with these men(and sometimes women) ? you allegedly drove 2 hours to meet up with a child? You don't even know if you are walking into a trap you are so disturbed and desperate? You tried it once with her you did it again. You thought you would not be caught? Moo What is in a person to be okay with killing a child and burning them. or anybody for that matter. sigh.

They are evil, and enjoy doing wicked, evil things to innocent people.
It's as simple and as disturbing as that.

I have started talking/showing my youngest articles and shows about the dangers of stuff online. She doesn't use her real name, no pictures, nothing. One of the shows we watched the other day had a girl who was being watched via her camera on her laptop. My daughter then covered all cameras on all her electronics. She is 11 and I think she's getting tired of my lecturing but it is important. So to answer your question, yes, I believe it's something parents should do.

This world can be a scary place especially for the young. I think keeping them safe is difficult if we don't keep the lines of communication open and if they don't know the dangers that can be out there.

Armando Cruz, 24, said he left the body of Patricia Alatorre wrapped in a red sleeping bag behind a large construction vehicle in the area of Aviation Boulevard and West 118th Street in Inglewood, the documents say. Investigators learned the body of an unidentified female had been found there the night of July 3, and the details from the crime scene were “extremely similar” to what detectives had learned from Cruz, including that her body had been set on fire. [snip] ...as he drove back to Inglewood he stopped in the center divider of southbound Highway 99 at the interchange with Herring Road and threw Alatorre’s cellphone in bushes along the roadway. Police say in the documents a cellphone was found in that area.

Several articles say a body was found matching the details, but is she still listed as officially missing / not found deceased?? Were they unable to confirm her identity due to burning her body?

i know, its so odd. they say a body that matches her circumstances but don't outright say she has been identified.
