thanks for posting this. Im glad she has been laid to rest. I think the gag order is still in place. Im sure the authorities have looks at his previous online activity to see if he has interacted whith any other children. I just hope patty was the first.

For those who have kids as I don't .Would showing teens an article like this but edited , a good idea to know what is out there or would that traumatize them?

What is wrong with these men(and sometimes women) ? you allegedly drove 2 hours to meet up with a child? You don't even know if you are walking into a trap you are so disturbed and desperate? You tried it once with her you did it again. You thought you would not be caught? Moo What is in a person to be okay with killing a child and burning them. or anybody for that matter. sigh.

I think it is important to alert and warn them (youth) as in “forewarned is forearmed” so they realize the danger. I don’t think graphic gory details would ever be appropriate. Informed not terrified would be my goal.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The man who raped and murdered 13-year-old Patricia Alatorre was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole after family of the victim told the court how he upended their lives.

Armando Cruz, 26, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder, rape and other charges filed in the killing of Patricia.

Patricia’s mother, Clara Alvarez, wrote a letter saying all she has of her daughter are memories. She sometimes tries to picture what Patricia would look like if still alive.

Cruz, whom Alvarez repeatedly referred to as a “monster,” deserves to spend the rest of his days in a cell, she wrote.
