As this report makes clear, <modsnip> the government does not spend money for secret service or anyone else to protect the family of legislators. I would not be surprised, however, to hear that the Pelosis hire their own security for when Paul is alone In the future.
‘With Speaker Pelosi away, there would not have been a security detail at the residence, according to one source familiar with protocol.’
Interesting, So NP gets security and PP does not?As this report makes clear, <modsnip> the government does not spend money protecting the family of legislators.

Thank goodness for the 911 operator who worked to understand what was happening and got LE there quickly.
Paul Pelosi secretly called 911 while in front of the intruder and spoke in 'code' to dispatcher to convey what was happening: 'Why are you here? What are you going to do to me?'
I guess the bathroom door didn't have a lockA few things that don't make sense to me yet (maybe they will as more info comes in or news reports get corrected): 1. I know Pelosi didn't have in-person security. But surely the home would have been protected by an alarm system. At my daughter's house, if a window had been broken, an alarm would have gone off and the alarm company would called them. If my daughter or husband couldn't give them the secret code, the police would have been called. 2. If Pelosi tricked the intruder into letting him use the bathroom, why didn't he lock himself in the bathroom? Letting Pelosi use the bathroom means the intruder didn't immediately assault Pelosi - the assault seems to have happened after the police arrived. And Pelosi had the hammer initially, so the intruder came unarmed.

The official story just seems odd to me.
No security being my biggest issue, doesn't seem right that no security was there at all.
I have an inexpensive Ring alarm system, with a subscription to alert the local LE if alarm goes off. I also have added glass breaking sensors for my patio doors. And I always look at my Ring base to see if the ring is Red (meaning turned on). Since I'm a fairly poor person, I wonder why the Pelosi home doesn't have something in place. Also, if I would hear any intruder breaking into or moving about in my home, I have a lock on my bedroom door. I agree, this is a strange incident, horrible, but so many questions on the break in. I am glad PP is reasonably ok. I understand secret service protection doesn’t extend to legislators, but I feel it should extend to the speaker of the house. 3rd in line for the presidency. Maybe this incident will change the thinking on that.

Wonder why obamas kids had been seen after his presidency with SS protection.
