Sorry… I see that the above article had already been posted a while back. I found this one about the opening statements, where it looks like they are blaming each other.

I found this article, detailing Yolanda’s testimony in court.
What a heartbreaking account of a life time of horrific abuse. I believe her. If he can murder his own infant children, imagine what he could do to his wife? And holding her hostage with threatening to kill Brittany. A true monster. He used her motherhood as a prison.

I’m also disturbed by Kato’s cause of death being ruled as SIDS. There’s potential that this could have been stopped, Yolanda and Brittany could have been liberated 30+ years ago and the suffering of the other children could have been avoided.

As a new mom myself, the profound agony she must be living with is unimaginable. I’m so sorry our society didn’t do more to protect her and her children.

I tried finding some in the Davis Enterprise since they started reporting this trial - but found nothing. I would think if the jury decided on a verdict they would have it. Nothing... so I am going to "assume" that the jury is still deliberating & will return on Monday, the 22nd.

Maybe someone local or in California can find something??

Here's an article on the verdict!

January 6, 2026

A Northern California jury on Tuesday convicted Paul Allen Perez of murdering his five infant children in a case that spans a decade and multiple counties.

Perez, now 63, was found guilty of multiple counts of murder, along with one count of assault on a child under eight with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death, the Yolo County District Attorney's Office said. Jurors also found true a sentencing enhancement for multiple murders.
[.....]
Perez now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, officials said. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 6, 2026 in Yolo County Superior Court.

January 9, 2026
''OAKLAND — California Attorney General Rob Bonta today issued a statement on the conviction of Paul Allen Perez this week for multiple counts of murder and one count of assault on a child under eight with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death by a jury in Yolo County. The prosecution was handled by the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office. The California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Forensic Services (BFS) provided assistance to the investigating agencies.

“With this conviction, justice was served for these horrific crimes,” said Attorney General Bonta. “This case is a powerful example of how innovative scientific techniques provide a voice for victims of crime. I am incredibly proud of the work our Bureau of Forensic Services put into this case, which provided a pathway to justice. I’m also grateful to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office and all of our law enforcement partners for their dedication to finding justice for these children.”

The conviction resolves a cold case that revolved around the murders of five infants between 1992 and 2001. In 2007, an infant’s remains were found in the Conway Slough east of Woodland. Though DNA from the remains was routinely searched to identify them, it wasn’t until 2017 that Paul Allen Perez was determined to be the infant’s biological father when BFS’s Missing Persons DNA Program and Cal-DNA Data Bank collaborated to identify a DNA kinship link. Following this lead, local investigators were able to build a case against Perez.''
