CA CA - Pearl Pinson, 15, Vallejo, 25 May 2016

My theory is that this was a paid hit. He dumped her somewhere close to where he killed her. I suggest the Swanzy Reservoir. He then traveled up to Jenner (or thereabouts) to get paid for his deed. Then, he was making a run for the border (albeit circuitous), and was caught. He wouldn't have had a big shoot out unless it was for high stakes. (Thinking LE knew she was dead).

A paid hit on a 15 year old girl? Is there a motive, or some reason you believe that?

Getting money...making a run to the border.

If he was making a run for Mexico, he could have headed straight down I-5, and been in Mexico long before he was spotted in Santa Barbara.

It wouldn’t surprise me if his destination was Mexico, but I don’t know if I would call that making a run to the border.

It was fearless, broad daylight. Seemingly no discussion, just a fast approach and execution. The motive is most likely "disrespect" to a gang, or being a snitch.

I think he side trips were to stop and get money from friends/relatives/associates. Maybe fake passport, etc.

It was not a fast execution. She was last seen being taken away bleeding. I believe I read they had some type of relationship. Hired killers do not typicalky kill people they know. More then likely it was a murder-suicide.

Any one got the name of the street Pearl lives on and her high school's name***?
And as I understand she was walking to or waiting at a school bus stop, NOT walking over the bridge when attacked, correct? Which side does she live on...
Do we know what time the bus should have picked her up?

Thank in advance.

***ok, as soon as i decide to ask , i find one thing
"Pinson, a student at Jesse Bethel High School in Vallejo"

the other though??

I think he didn't intend to kill her, and after he did, he wandered randomly to some places that had meaning for him, before trying to run to Mexico. When he got stopped, suicide by cop.

[h=1]Search for missing Solano teen enters second week[/h]

One of the reasons that detectives remain so hopeful that Pinson is still alive is because there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. The blood found at the abduction scene is not sufficient to believe someone would die from such an injury, Castillo said.
Furthermore, there is no evidence in the car Castro was driving that indicates whether Pinson was ever actually inside. Castillo said the department is waiting to get forensic tests back to answer some of those questions.
...
Pinson and Castro did know each other, a relationship described by Castillo as acquaintances from the neighborhood. They do not believe the relationship was more serious, and they believe Pinson was taken against her will.

So the blood found at location she was last seen wasn't sufficient to believe she was shot there. I've wondered if he maybe hit her across the face with the gun when she tried to get away from him and that's why the witness saw blood on her face. He probably fired the gun off to buy himself time and keep the witness from approaching them.

I certainly hope she's still alive... but I also hope he didn't drop her off somewhere with a cohort to be forced into sex trafficking.

As feisty as Pearl obviously is (considering she was brave enough to scream for help even with a gun held to her head), I can't imagine anyone would be able to control her easily.

But he wasn't, he was circling the entire Bay Area, paying bridge toll multiple times and getting spotted on camera. That's why I asked what dahell he was doing. He was failing at leaving the area big time.

Leaving the area?

I don't think so. He was crazy that's why he was fearless. This doesn't ring of any organization at all.

So if he was spotted crossing the Richmond bridge west bound, that tells me he left Vallejo south on 80 then hit on 580 west near Albany? So search from Vallejo to Richmond/Albany? Pinole and el sobrante have open areas and water. There is a dam around there too.

I'm thinking all of those things right along with you!

Yeah, I don't know why he'd go all the way up to San Rafael to catch Hwy 101 South. The most direct route would be down across the Bay Bridge, or even straight on down 80/880 to San Jose. Maybe he wanted to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge one more time before he left?

This story was posted on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 1:37 pm. I found it today. The spokesperson's comments make me suspect that LE didn't fully understand that Pearl was in danger when she was abducted.

Remember that the Amber Alert wasn't issued until Thursday afternoon. apparently after the search of Castro's home.

Sheriff’s deputies, local law enforcement officers and special investigative teams looked for Pinson and Castro through the night Wednesday and continued their search Thursday.

Assistance was also requested from the Solano County Office of Emergency Services, who activated search and rescue teams to find the 15-year-old girl.

During a press conference Thursday held before Castro was located, a Solano County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said a search of Castro’s home found writings and other pieces of evidence which added to the potential danger of the case.

“There is some indication that different writings have been collected,” the spokesman said. “We have concern with the items we took out of (Castro’s) house. It makes it much more urgent for us to find both of them.”

I saw where they were concerned over some writings of his.

I don't think this has anything to do w sex trafficking of any sort. this guy had a relationship w her, either in his mind or it was secret. probably the former.

The California Child Abduction Taskforce has a website with lots of information. One of the resources listed is the FBI. It's not clear to me that the Solano County Sheriff has asked for assistance from the FBI. Maybe they have and I just didn't hear or read about it. The FBI did solve the Denise Huskins Abduction after the Vallejo Police Department declared her kidnapping a hoax.

FBI as a Resource

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is one of the resources available to your local law enforcement agency during the investigation of both Non-Family and Family Child Abductions.

In a Non-Family Child Abduction, the first few hours are the most critical to the successful recovery of the child. The investigating agency must have a pre-planned response and use every resource available during that critical time. The FBI can provide your agency with a copy of the FBI's Child Abduction Response Plan (CARP) to assist your agency in developing a pre-planned response. The FBI's CARP provides a guide to the investigative phases of a Non-Family Child Abduction, including Initial Responders, Neighborhood Canvassing, Victimology, Subject(s), Crime Scene(s), Command Post, Case Management, Media Strategy, and Technical Support. Also included in the CARP are Interview Strategies, Standardized Questions to be used for the Neighborhood Canvassing, Road Blocks, and General Assessment, and a list of additional resources provided by the FBI. As the investigative phases of a Non-Family Abduction can overwhelm any agencies' resources, the FBI can provide the particular resources needed by your agency. The FBI resources that are available include Special Agents to assist in Interviews, Neighborhood Canvassing, Road Blocks, Evidence Response Team (ERT), Computer Analysis Response Team (CART), Profilers from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), Polygraph Examiners, Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) for the victim's residence, Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team, Special Operations Group (SOG) for surveillances, and Technically Trained Agents to assist in obtaining Cellular Tracking, Pen Register/Trap & Trace/Title III, Tele Track for vehicles, Pole Cameras, etc. In addition, to the resources of the FBI Field Office in your area, the FBI can utilize the resources of all 56 FBI Field Offices located throughout the United States, and the FBI's Legal Attaches assigned to approximately 60 offices internationally that cover approximately 200 countries.

Contact the FBI Field Office in your area to utilize the FBI resources to assist your agency prepare and respond to Non-Family and Family Child Abductions.

Castillo said on Tuesday information obtained from Bay Area traffic cameras has provided investigators with the following tips about Castro’s car:

5/26/16 Car seen westbound I-580 Richmond-San Rafael Bridge at 9:13am
5/26/16 Car seen near Sir Frances Drake Blvd in Marin County at 9:20am
5/26/16 Car seen southbound 101 Golden Gate Bridge at 9:35am

Okay so he WAS going westbound over the Richmond Bridge and DID cross the GG. Well huh.

But... if I'm remembering correctly - isn't the Sir Frances Drake Blvd AFTER the Golden Gate Bridge?? Like near San Rafael? Or am I NOT remembering correctly?
Haven't been thru there in AGES!!!!

So I'm going to assume there was NO blood in his car?? Otherwise, they would have said, yes she was in his car... maybe that gun shot was just to scare the witnesses away? I hope so - !! OOps - just read your post cujenn81 - about the gunshot!

Still searching today?

and Thank you all for the updates!
