That's weird, isn't it? We really know nothing more about him than we did on the first day.

Seriously!! IIRC, he had no SM.. an 18/19 year old with no FB? IG? Twitter? Weird... No family defending him? Saying were sorry he did this or anything... what I found weird at the very beginning of all this is, I get that they could ID pearl because the 911 caller and her missing school, but how in the world did they ID him?! Unless the caller knew him and could ID him off that.. IIRC her family said they seen him around the neighborhood, that doesn't seem like a very close relationship between them, so how could they just pull out of no where that it was him? They did a search warrant of his house before they looked for him so how did they know that quickly? Plus I believe they said they found some stuff at his house but never told us what it was or anything...

I would guess he might have purged his social media before he went out to grab her; it's a pretty common thing to do for people who are planning to commit a crime or end their lives (often both). But the rest is just weird. They never indicated that the witness knew her, but maybe they did, or maybe somebody saw the car under the overpass, if that's where he parked.

Maybe somebody in his family reported him because they were worried when he left--but I don't think we ever heard if he has family, did we?

I would guess he might have purged his social media before he went out to grab her; it's a pretty common thing to do for people who are planning to commit a crime or end their lives (often both). But the rest is just weird. They never indicated that the witness knew her, but maybe they did, or maybe somebody saw the car under the overpass, if that's where he parked.

I assumed a witness got the plate number, and gave a vehicle description to le. They ran the plate and had his name.

But IIRC the person didn't know what happened cause he had a gun so they got down to call 911.. plus if they had a license plate number why did they wait til the next day to put out the amber alert??

Thinking of Pearl.......hmmm, I agree things seem odd. I'm thinking LE knows something, yet they say no new leads.
Do we KNOW if Pearl was in the car? Last I heard they were doing forensics. Did the witness say they had seen her get pulled into a car? I thought they reported her getting pulled across a pedestrian bridge.....TIA.

I have not seen any reports that any one witnessed her getting pulled into the car. But I think that there is about a 99.9999999% chance that she did get into the car. I can’t think of any other way she would not have been found immediately, can you?

No, not particularly.....just trying to understand. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a whole day passed before the Amber alert and the gold saturn info came out. So ....I don't know what may have happened in that time frame. Or if the man dragging her lived near by, or had help of another person,an accomplice maybe in another car, or building or another home near by.

-If he was only described as a Hispanic male with glasses and a black sweater, HOW did they know it was Castro so quickly?!
-Why couldn't they have put out some kind of alert (I understand that they can't release an amber alert without a car) on the radio or local channels or something?!
-What did they find when they searched his house?
-How were the two connected? Did he actually know her or just knew her from seeing her around?
-Where was he pointing the gun? At the witnesses? At Pearl?
- How was there only ONE witness for this and they just so happened to be going for help and then poof he's gone? And Pearl never to be seen again.. (Side note: um, am I like absolutely crazy or am I the only one who would actually run towards someone yelling for help and bleeding? Literally no one at all helped this girl!!! it's not like this happened at night when no one was around and she wasnt supposed to be out, she was being a good kid, on her way to school!!!)

It's not like any of this info is crucial, Castros already dead so he can't do anymore harm with this info released... I feel like someone along the lines messed up and is trying to cover their butts and hopes this gets sweeped under the rug... We need to find Pearl!!

I am quoting my own post. Sorry if I am making this thread more confusing, I am just trying to get a good feel for how this went down. I thought about the fact in #4 that the incident at 7 am was not connected to Pearl until she was missing from school (as stated in that link). But.....can't be true because they found her cell phone immediately. So I believe it would be easy to determine Pearl was the owner of it.
Also here's a link with her boyfriend talking, crying, etc....I didn't know she had a boyfriend. Sorry if I missed that in the thread.

I can't seem to find any info on the suspect.....but this link does say he was on probation for robbery from contra costa county.
Also, it appears I did miss that information that Pearl had a boyfriend. I see him in am interview on this thread two weeks after her abduction. I just missed that.

Yes Ayashley, you are right....this *is* sketchy. Or "hinky" as we like to say. Very "hinky" indeed. I live here in the SF Bay area, and have heard little to nothing about Pearl since a little blurb on the radio a couple weeks back. It's really disturbing to me that this case isn't getting more coverage. I mean, how hard would it be to spot a kid with GREEN hair? Granted it could have been dyed by now, but my point is that no one except her own loved ones and maybe a few kind hearted souls seem to be looking.
