58-year-old Philip “Garr” Ohle was last reported seen Thursday, September 6 in the late afternoon leaving his home at 679 North Gulling Street in Portola. He was driving a silver 2011 Subaru Outback wagon with CA license plate # 7UKB137.

Investigators say he is white, six feet tall and 220 pounds with short gray hair, blue eyes and a large gray beard. He was last reported seen wearing blue jeans and a green or maroon button-up shirt. They say he has no known medical issues and there has been no cell phone activity on his phone since he left.

October 6, a hunter found the Outback in a heavily-wooded area west of Lake Davis. A deputy responded, saying it was obvious the vehicle had been there for "quite some time." Plumas County Search and Rescue searched the area without finding any further sign of him. A search of the area continues with personnel and dogs.

A search of Ohle’s unlocked car revealed his wallet and cell phone and the ignition left in the on position. But there were no signs of foul play and nothing suspicious, according to PCSO, which nonetheless describes the circumstance surrounding Ohle’s disappearance as "odd."

Circumstances of DisappearanceOn 09/06/2018, Philip left work early and came home where he lived with his brother and mother. Philip showered, then met with his brother who was in the driveway. After a brief conversation, Philip left in his silver Subaru four door not telling his brother or anyone else where he was going and never returned. Philip's vehicle was located on 10/6/2018 by a hunter in the woods of the Lake Davis area near Portola. Search and Rescue conducted multiple searches in the area to no avail before winter weather prohibited further searching. There are no leads as to his whereabouts at this time.
