I would think he could have a solid alibi if he is swearing he never left the complex and it is a secure as all that, indicated above. So what would LE have that allows them to tear apart his home and business and take computers, etc? They can't just do that based on last call on her phone, I am sure of that. I really want to believe him, as I think it gives Phoung at least a chance to be alive someplace...but in my heart, I am thinking that LE is right more often than not when they zero in...

I would think that LE would have checked with security *before* getting two search warrants and hauling him in for eight hours of questioning. A phone call to security costs them a whole lot less than the manpower for all that.

A phone call, wait for a phone call back saying "No, we checked and he entered gate # whatever at date/time, and never exited a gate until date/time. Your guy's clear.". That's so quick, easy, cheap, and reliable.

Baffling.

I've browsed Phuong's thread daily, but don't remember if I have posted at all.

I have to admit, I haven't read every post, so I'm not sure the facts that I understand to be true are true at all.

Is it true that an employee at B&N reported seeing Phuong in the store? Is it also true that, despite this report, Phuong was not seen on video surveillance at the store? Did she come here often? Has this employee been checked out?

Good thinking!

Rancho Solano is a premier, gated, master-planned golf course community. What makes Rancho Solano such a great place to call home - great location, great people and great amenities.

Comprised of 1200 homes, Rancho Solano living blends a quiet pastoral setting with the allure of Northern California's wine country and an award winning 18 hole Gary Roger Baird public golf course (rated as one of the best in Northern California) creating a truly unique landscape for every lifestyle. The community is comprised of six distinct and private neighborhoods. From elegant spacious single-family homes to the convenience of town-home living, Rancho Solano has something special to offer young families, professionals and retirees alike. Throughout Rancho Solano, special attention has been given to security and privacy with 24-hour surveillance, security patrols and gate-pass entrances to each neighborhood.

Sorry... I missed something somewhere. Is this where he lives?

I wonder if he's an immigrant (or his parents)? That he speaks English is not the point. Considering it appears he has no criminal history, it's quite possible he doesn't fully comprehend our system and his rights... and what he does know is colored by any experiences he (or his parents) may have had with police and authorities in Vietnam. IF the police obtained warrants based on information he gave them during an 8 hour interrogation --- and I have to believe he didn't have an attorney present; can't imagine one allowing him to speak out as he's been doing --- I can see a defense attorney successfully arguing to have the resulting evidence tossed out.

The police have already screwed up by allowing 48 hours to pass in the immediate time after she went missing, I hope they are being damned careful now to dot their I's and cross their T's... but my gut tells me they are screwing up again.

They better be, or Mr. N. is going to own the Fairfield PD.

Or perhaps he gave them permission w/o warrant?

My Mom is an immigrant.
She had LE backend her once, totally his fault yet he had to convince her it was his....
She takes LE very seriously and her citizen status to her is a gift, for whatever reason she is afraid it will be revoked and she wil be sent back to Spain w/o her children.

He could be the very same way. I hope my example made sense.

Yes it did :)

The current atmosphere in this country regarding immigrants certainly doesn't help, either.

Cool, it is not often I can explain well.

I agree on the current atmosphere. My Mom has been here for almost 40 years yet the minute some people hear her accent....

I do not believe the friend/boss has anything to do with this, I could be wrong but just listening I do not think so. I feel very badly for him if he has no involvment.

LE got two search warrants, one for his home and one for his business. They were served/executed at the same time they pulled him in for questioning.

I have been blessed with many friends and acquaintances over the years who immigrated from various countries. Most of them feel much as your mom does about their citizenship status and about LE.

I am tending to think mostly that Phuong's ex-boss and friend has not been engaged in any wrongdoing in regards to Phuong's disappearance. I am confused on a few points. I don't want to think this man engaged in wrongdoing, and at the same time, I don't want to think that LE screwed up. I am trying to reconcile my confusion, but I'm afraid I won't be able to do so until more info becomes available.

Today, detectives confirmed the two had been in a relationship, but deny rumors Le was pregnant.

Nguyen has not been named as a person of interest in the case nor has anyone else.

This article was updated 17 hours ago. I don't remember this quote from Huong previously:

Le also denied rumors that his sister and Nguyen may have been romantically involved.

"He is married and has two kids," Le said.

Nguyen appears to be dishonest to his friends. Huong has referred to Nguyen as being like a brother. :(

I kind of did expect it...just thought it was strange he would be the one she'd call when upset if not more than a friend...
but i honestly hope he is not guilty of harming her...i guess a romantic relationship and the phone call could be enough to search? Not sure...

Guess that info would explain the warrants!

I wonder if meeting in the parking lot of B&N or the 24h gym was routine for them - Maybe motels near by?

This case is a head scratcher for sure. Just thinking aloud for a minute...do we know if PL ever listened to an iPod while at Barnes and Noble? Could she have had one on, listening to music while walking to her car and didn't hear someone come up behind her? Just a random thought.

I hope Nguyen didn't harm her...

I wonder if the man offered to let LE search home and business? LE would still get warrants to protect the searches, but it might explain how they were able to search at this point, if no evidence that he did anything yet. I would let LE search, if I was innocent and wanted them to move on to finding out what really happened. Has he said that the search was not ok'd by him?

That comment / quote was always in the article. Huong Le was commenting on reports that Nguyen's home and business were searched.
