It does seem odd to me that they would just now be reviewing Barnes & Noble videos. Or is it that the reporters just found out about it.

What was interesting to me was the report did show what one of the surveillance cameras looks like in the Rancho Solano area. I was concerned because I realized from Google that there is no guard station that I could see. Looks like anyone could drive anywhere without being stopped. Now I wonder how many of the cameras exist and where they are.

We can use this office for any purpose regarding finding Phuong. I will try to get this offiice ready by Monday morning, 5/10 so if you have a chance please come by monday morning...the more people come, the better. Also, if you have any idea as to what we should have in the office, please let know...Thanks everyone."

Phuong has now been missing 13 days.

Can't imagine the anguish her mom and siblings are feeling - this will be a Mother's Day nobody in the family will ever forget. Sending heartfelt hugs to all those who love and care for Phoung.

There's a new video titled "Volunteers to Search for Missing Fairfield Woman Over the Weekend" on the main page of this news site:
http://www.kron.com/

LE is just now examining the surveillance video from b&n???

(Sorry I couldn't find a direct link to the video. It's in the list of videos right near the top.)

The street surveillance camera they show on that video is on Rancho Solano Parkway at Mankas Corner Road. That's a very different spot than what I had guessed...that the cameras would be at the exits from Nguyen's neighborhood onto Rancho Solano Parkway. The consequence of that surveillance camera being further from his house is it adds a bunch of different ways he could have left his neighborhood, and all of those may very well not be watched by video cameras. Makes me think his claim of being on camera might not be worth anything after all.

Also, I think the reference to B&N video may be from other times Phuong visited the store. Maybe they want to see if she was there with anybody else in the past.

Kind of amazing how quick he thought of that video camera isn't it? Almost like he was looking for some excuse, and hoping it would exonerate him from all wrong doing. molo

Why anyone even remotely suspected of involvement in a missing persons case (or any possible crime for that matter) should retain an attorney and never talk to the media.

I think it is possible that he latched onto the video cameras in his complex out of desperation, if in fact he was home all evening and is innocent of any involvement. I could see myself doing that, if I felt I lived in a secured complex, not thinking of all of the possible ways to avoid detection. Innocent people might not be aware that there are ways to slip in and out of the complex. JMO

If someone is guilty then I'm all for them talking to the press as much as possible. Dee Dee Moore is an excellent example. She made suspicious public comments, even in this very forum, which likely helped get her eventually arrested for the murder of Abraham Shakespeare.

Just read an interesting comment on the FB page from a poster there who suggests large packages being shipped out from the bf's business. That's an interesting theory to me but would require an accomplice on the receiving end of the large package. Worth looking into imo. I'm not overly suspicious of the bf but as many other cases have proven he is a viable poi from what we know so far. I hope LE thinks to look into this or someone has the initiative to send in a tip.

Well, if he is innocent, maybe he was at home, wasn't on the computer or doesn't have any other way of showing he didn't go out? Maybe his wife wasn't home? I agree, he was quick to think about the video cameras, but that just might be all he's got for an alibi. MOO

NOOOoooooo :-( Tears flowing here. I know it wasn't looking very positive but I was still secretly praying for a miracle for Phuong.....proud little brand new nurse...IT IS SO UNFAIR :-( It's been almost two weeks but they must be pretty sure it is her, to call her family there. How AWFUL for them :-( If it were me, I'd rather remember my sister as she was...alive, smiling and beautiful.

Authorities have scheduled a news conference this evening to announce a major development in the search for a missing Fairfield woman.

KRON 4 News has learned a body was found at 9:30 a.m. Friday along Highway 121 about 20 miles northwest of Fairfield. Investigators say someone made a 911 call to the CHP to initially report the find. The CHP turned that part of the investigation over to Napa County.

Yes, this is one of the worst aspects of the whole tragedy. I wish wish wish it wasn't necessary for family members to go there to the site. If they could be spared that. Then again, if it were one of my family members, I couldn't help but feel like I needed to be there with them, not wanting them to be alone anymore.
