CA CA - Phuong Le, 24, Fairfield, 25 April 2010 - #2

The Napa County Sheriff's Department say that a body found on Monticello Road near Lake Berryessa may be that of missing Solano County woman Phuong Le.

According to a friend of Le, the missing woman's family heard media reports about a body that was found and traveled to the scene.

The Napa County Sheriff's Department was notified of a body found near Lake Berryessa Friday morning. After investigating, they called the Fairfield authorities to the scene.

So she was found at 9:30 AM. It took them all day to connect the dots.

Yeah, I checked the map to see how far north Lake Berryessa is in reference to Fairfield. Quite a ways out there...at least 20 miles.

-9:15am this morning a woman walking her dog in a remote area of Napa County found a body and Napa County responded to the scene.
-Body is of a young woman similar description to Phuong.
-Detectives and CSI responded, along with FBI teams. They are currently processing the scene to finish gather evidence.
-Autopsy underway in an attempt to identify the victim.
-The family has been notified of this discovery.
-The media had contacted the family prior to police contacting the family, therefore police felt like they had to.
-Similar physical description to Phuoung.
-Remains found off of highway 121. Doesn't know the exact name of the road. Remains were found about 30-40 yards off the highway.
-Not somewhere where people would be and not somewhere where you would "take a hike.
-Won't comment on the condition of the remains or whether or not the remains where clothed.
-Family is at the scene..was led there by media.
-Coroner could take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks.
-Don't know of any other missing person in Napa County.
-No one is detained at this time, and they have no persons of interests.
