NG and LG think strangulation. Believe ex-boss knows something.
I think a big piece of the puzzle is something LE hasn't released information on yet and that is whether or not she was clothed. All we really know so far is this wasn't a robbery. MOO

NG: talking to guests about possible COD. Believe it could involve a weapon, others say strangulation.

Caller wants to know about PL passing out flyers and if she was in a parking garage or something. Reporter Stacy saying it was earlier in the day, not connected. NG talking about PL leaving the house to cool off after a family disagreement; reporter HKL saying not a big fight or anything and brothers have been cleared.

Thanks for the added info about the fight, panthera. I've noticed -- this is at least the second time the family argument has come up, and commenters have referenced the brothers. If I remember correctly, the fight was between PL and her sister, correct?

If I'm not mistaken, LE hasn't seized anyone else's vehicle, have they? All this time, I've been assuming (perhaps errantly) that the murder occurred in a vehicle. I've assumed the unfolding of all this happened pretty quickly after she was taken.

Strangulation? If it were personal, perhaps there is evidence to be found in someone's car.
I'd think if she was in a car with someone there would be scratches on that person if he was strangling her. Her first instinct would be to reach up and try to stop him, and free herself, which could create scuff marks inside the car. MOO

Good point and you're right. PL was supposedly upset about having to hand out flyers for her sister's salon.

NG: to Pat Brown, not a random killing, she would've been left at the crime scene. PB correcting herself now about inferring earlier that PL could've been waiting for TN's business to close; realizes it was closed. PB saying could've been staged to make it look like she never left parking lot by putting her backpack in trunk.

NG wants to know where PL's family was that night. Reporter Stacy saying believes they were at home; brothers cleared.

NG to Dr. K about condition of body. He says badly decomposed due to heat, insects, animal activity. If she were stabbed or shot decomposition wouldn't matter because there would be a wound; an x ray would show that. NG agrees with PB this wasn't location of homicide.

I usually read all posts before I ask questions, but I'm on my way out the door. I haven't caught up here in about an hour so I don't know if this has been mentioned.

Nonetheless,
I wonder if Phuong's keys were found with her?

I haven't heard any mention of keys or clothing. But yes, I'd like to know that too!

Definitely. And kick marks all over the passenger side interior. And other DNA, on the upholstery, windows, door panel.... Gosh, I hope LE had the foresight to search all vehicles close to this case!

(On an unrelated but not irrelevant note: I've always vowed...if I'm ever abducted, I will leave my DNA everywhere, and in such a way the perp would have to have hours if not days to make sure he got it all. There are ways a person can intentionally leave a huge mess that would be next to impossible to clean up.)

NG: Sheeba (caller) wants to know how long PL has known TN and could he have molested her. RH is bringing up that TN has denied ever being a "boyfriend". Pam H wants to know more about why PL was upset and had to leave the house to cool off. SM believes she was killed by someone she knew. NG stressing random killers don't go to the effort of hiding the body so she agrees.

the end!

Certainly. The keys could be key. (Forgive the pun.)

Right and to get to Napa, the driver would have to cross the bridge to Vallejo. Seems the 🤬🤬🤬 wanted to make it look random. But I don't buy it either. "Random killers don't go to the effort of hiding bodies"...as far as clothed, I bet she was. IMO

Exactly ~ on all points!!! ;)

I'm thinking of her brother's comments about the jewelry still being on her body, but yet there wasn't any mention of clothing as we usually see in other cases where someone says it looks like what they were wearing when they went missing. I don't believe her being in a vehicle with the perp was random, but something could've gone wrong inside the car, the killer "loses it", kills her and then panics by dumping her body and not removing the jewelry. Even if she hadn't been found for months or years, that jewelry would've still been there to identify her. MOO

Would her clothes have been intact and recognizable though, considering the effects of bio decomp? Jewelry -- I would think -- wouldn't have been all that affected by bio decomp over a period of two weeks, so jewelry would've been much more identifiable, you think? Perhaps her clothes might not have been in any kind of shape to recognize? (I honestly wouldn't know...just throwing out these questions.)

Exactly, no mistaking the identity, an oversight or on purpose?

Not to go O/T, but I'm thinking of what was found with Caylee's remains, which had been submerged in water and in the elements for a much longer time than Phuong has been missing. So I would think there would be some remnants of clothing even if there may have been animal activity. I just find it odd that nothing about clothing has been mentioned, unless LE doesn't want to say anything because it could lend speculation as to her COD. MOO

Unless we hear otherwise, I think it's very possible the perp returned to her car, put her stuff in the trunk, and maybe tossed the keys somewhere on his way home. It sure makes a lot more sense than her leaving her wallet, cell phone behind even if she voluntarily got in a car with someone she knew; or for her to put those items in the trunk if she was planning to leave in her car and was abducted in the parking lot. MOO

i caught just about 2-3 minutes of NG and she was just making a guess about strangulation from what I gathered and then another one agreed with her, but this is not a confirmed fact, in case anyone was not watching.

Also I did hear them saying how unusual and suspicious it was that TN would not comment more...what is he supposed to say? I can't imagine him saying more than he is shocked and sad for the family. At least he is speaking and not telling them to call his lawyer. (this is why I do not watch NG-that made me a little crazy that because he did not want to talk to MEDIA he is suspicous...when I think if they do want to talk to media, watch out...)

If your theory of the perp putting her stuff in the trunk of her car is true,
let's just hope we have fingerprints!!!!!

I can't imagine her clothes becoming unrecognizable (excuse spelling) in this amount of time. There have been cases when years had passed and LE could still see the print on a blouse, for example, and the weather, while not ideal, was not horrible either. (I hope she had her clothes on...we don't know that for sure, do we?)

Somehow I am still on the side of this not being TN...I think if he seems to be coming across badly, it could be a nationality thing, to some extent, or simply that he is not an outspoken man. Not wanting to talk to media is intelligent...as long as he is talking to LE whenever they want to and so far, this seems to be the case. I just hate to think anyone Phoung loved/liked and trusted would do this to her...although of course, statistics tell us exactly this.
