In late January, the department received a complaint from a citizen who suspected that two sheriff’s deputies had taken advantage of an elderly woman after she went missing for several days. It was not immediately clear how the officers were accused of being involved in her disappearance.

“During the course of the criminal and administrative investigations, several search warrants were executed and many unusual activities by both deputies, both on and off duty, were discovered. Also during the investigations, allegations of improper conduct surfaced from another county for one of the officers.” They were placed on leave pending the outcome of criminal and administrative investigations.

Investigators eventually tracked her down to the Philippines, where she was staying with relatives, and brought her back home.

Neighbors on Thomas Road look out for Rosalie Achiu ever since her husband passed in 2016. They say she suffers from dementia. When Miss Lynn went missing, they knew something was wrong.

A neighbor said said it’s strange to look across the street and not see Rosalie and can’t imagine why anyone would take advantage of her dear neighbor.

what an odd story. What were they to gain by sending her to the Philippines? Did she want to go and they helped her? Did they want her gone so they could take her property? how were they taking advantage of her? I am so confused.
