Does anyone know the role of the US Marshals service in this case? They're not the FBI, they don't conduct missing persons investigations.

These 3 maps have meaning. Why was their scent picked up in the north easterly portion of the park, and the phone pinging closer to the area of the car (more or less)? Yet, it seems there is also a connection to these other populated locations... Hmmmm

According to the Wikipedia definition as we know the case, none of the above. Which means there is a lot we don't know about the case. It's starting to look like this disappearance goes way deeper than we knew. Were one of them in Witness Protection? Why the US Marshalls? Why that agency? Why is it their jurisdiction over the others? This is mind-boggling.

Thank you for making this easy to find. I wonder if they chose to hike back to the house from the trail, and something untoward happened as they entered down into the valley from the rocky hills. Something such as stumbling upon something they weren't "supposed to" see or overhear, for example. It's very populated, and there are quite a few outlying homes that are pretty secluded, both north and west of those hills.

I believe I found the AirBnB featured in the video that the witness (EW) claims he saw RN and JO at after they were missing. It's really strange that police confirmed that JO and Javier rented this same house 2 weeks prior to that. I wonder if EW could have seen JO there with another woman at the earlier date (when JO rented it with Javier) and EW just didn't remember for sure how long ago it was?

I don't where the Spanish news station got the map above, but it lines up with the addresses I found from news shots of both houses. Airbnb1 is owned by one of the owners who reviewed JO's profile. I looked it up, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation investigated that case. The info about the US Marshall Service involvement seems to come solely from JO's father, and to be honest, is probably based on a misunderstanding. Maybe he spoke with an individual who has offered to help in a private capacity, and has jumped to conclusions. The "US Marshal Service" sounds important if you didn't know they are essentially bodyguards for prisoners.

Joseph stayed there with his friend Javier July 12-July14 (2 weeks prior to going missing). The new witness interviewed says he saw RN and JO at that same house after they had been reported missing from July 27- Aug 1, along with another couple staying there. LE has known about the witness statements since Aug 4th. LE checked into it and says there was no evidence of RN and JO at the house during that time but they confirmed other people were staying there.
