That's a great idea! I hope this can be done.

There is a different Attorney General now as well.

I do hope this works! Keep trying!

This is actually out third request over the past 10 year. One was verbal in 2011 and SDSD simply refused to acknowledge we ask for a different agency. In 2019 Mary filed a formal complaint to SDSD Internal Affairs and after 4 months we received a letter in the mail stating we did not provide enough evidence for them to open an internal investigation. We never received a call to discuss the complaint just a letter. This will be our formal request to all a different agency to investigate Rebecca's murder. I don't expect a response from the Sheriff. After dealing with him for 10 years now he will ignore us again.

Attached is our complaint and response. Any other agency would have contacted us and had a conservation. How can you file a complaint with IA and they don't reach out?

So the sheriff's department handles their own internal investigations? How could anyone think that's a good idea? I'd love to see how many times they've found fault while reviewing complaints against their own agency.
JMO, MOO, etc

The sheriff should have had an outside agency come in and handle our complaint. One thing I have learned about this sheriff is what he says and what he does are two very different things.

another thing ...does anyone really think that R did this to herself and wrote no note, made no post or text to anyone? after all this elaborate staging?

Like , to my loving family..etc...

no dang way, just another reason I don't believe one word of this
suicide story.

No, I don't think so.

What if Rebecca did tie the ropes around her arms and legs but intended only to injure, not kill, herself when she jumped? First, she wrote the "She saved him, Can you save her?" statement as a message from a supposed enemy of Jonah's, who was responsible both for Max's injuries and then Rebecca's. (Rebecca saved Max; can you - Jonah, the police - save her?) Clearly Rebecca was in a lot of pain because of her responsibility in Max's fall and because Jonah was said to be ready to end his relationship with her. If someone else was "really" the one behind Max's injuries, and then this person also tried to kill Rebecca, then Rebecca was off the hook for whatever happened to Max and she would gain a lot of sympathy because she, too, had suffered at this person's hands.

It's impossible. You may have missed it, but LE weren't able to recreate the binding and knot that was used to tie Rebecca's hands in their reconstruction.

But officials ruled the death a suicide, which means Rebecca would have had to tie the knots herself. Here is an interesting reenactment:

my only complaint with this is that the body simulation should have gone over more vertical..

That's the problem with their ruling. That reenactment didn't match Rebecca's bindings.

right it was impossible to put the knot at the top and not the bottom or something..it did not match and no one could do it that way on themselves!!!

The investigation was incomplete and left out important evidence. Just because Rebecca went over the balcony doesn't mean she did so willingly. She had defensive wounds and showed signs of sexual assault. Time of death disputed, evidence not collected, etc. Then there were the knots and all the evidence and locations at the crime scene that were wiped clean of fingerprints.

The horrible treatment Rebecca suffered through was followed by horrible treatment of her remains & next her family by the Sheriff's Department, and then the Attorney General of California!

Keep in mind that said Attorney General made campaign promises about protecting racial/ethnic minorities and all marginalized people and is now your Vice President.

What does her refusal to examine the evidence in Rebecca Zahau's death show you about her real intent?

Apparently the wealthy white guy who owned the mansion wrote to her first.

Much more important to the AG than an Asian woman and her Asian family.

JMHO of course. But I am a Behaviorist, and believe that what a person does matters more than what a person says. When those match, the individual has integrity. A mis-match? Choose your own term, several available in English.

Praying that the current Attorney General has more integrity. Doesn't need to be very much more, IMHO.

Still broken-hearted for your family, @Burma!

lets not forget all the mud and other anomalies..they did not prove their case of suicide..they did not prove it and thats why the Z's won in civil court against the murderer. mOO
