Family searching for missing Downey woman with diminished mental capacity

Regan "Reina" Koeppe has been missing since Dec. 7. Her family said she's in need of her medication.

DOWNEY, Calif. - A family in Downey is searching for a woman who's been missing since Dec. 7, and is offering a $1,000 reward for information on her safe return.

Regan "Reina" Koeppe has been missing since around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, when her family said she walked away from home. She was last seen on Brock Avenue near Lubec and Suva streets. According to her family, Koeppe is developmentally delayed, with the mental capacity of an 8-year-old.

Her family said she also sometimes goes by the name "Sophia."

Koeppe is Hispanic, with brown eyes and brown hair, she stands approximately 5 feet tall and weights about 132 pounds.

According to her family, Koeppe needs her medication. Anyone with information about where she may be was asked to call Downey Police Dispatch at 562-904-2363.

DOWNEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A family is desperate for answers in the search for a 25-year-old woman missing from Downey.

Regan "Reina" Koeppe has not been seen for nearly two weeks, and they are extremely worried for her safety. Investigators say has a diminished mental capacity.

"I miss my sister," her brother Daniel Koeppe said through tears. "The only thing I want for Christmas is my sister home. I want to give my sister a hug."

After going missing more than 2 weeks, Downey woman reunited with family

In what her family describes as a "Christmas miracle," Regan "Reina" Koeppe has been found after going missing more than two weeks.

Now, the day before Christmas, Reina is back with her family and they are calling it a "Christmas miracle." They tell Eyewitness News that a good Samaritan helped Reina and called an Uber, which brought her to a friend's home.
