My father was murdered in 1989 under suspicious circumstances. I reached out to the Cold Case Dept at the OPD in August and they’ve been on special assignment and won’t return my calls.

As it turns out, the lead detective ran into some issues several years later. After a preliminary search, I found the following article: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sf...OUNTY-Police-Officer-Charged-With-2811873.php

I hate to think the two are related in my inability to get any answers but it seems likely. I’m going to file a FOIA on this but I’m considering finding a PI. I go back and forth because it seems like a waste of resources.

Any help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

What a shame there hasn't been any help in finding your father's killer. He sounds like he was a great person, what a terrible loss. I wonder if there's any way they can reopen his case? Have you thought of going to the news media or starting a Facebook page for him? Just some ideas...

They certainly should let you look at the files, especially if the case is no longer being actively investigated.

I was able to track down the original reporter who said he was going to look into it for me and potentially do another story. I’m thrilled, to say the least
